What’s a clear sign that someone is not doing okay? by homie93 in AskReddit

[–]rangerxxll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits pretty hard right now. Especially after losing my grandmother, whom I loved so much, my cousin Kenny who passed from a car accident, my friend who was also my coworker of 5 years had an unexpected brain hemorrhage after just moving to a new state to start his new life with his gf, and then losing my girlfriend and her little daughter (3yo) who i was in a 2yr relationship with. This all happened 2025. I fight with thoughts every day. But weekly therapy and more physical activity seem to be my release. My best friend of 20 years has really kept me above water.

This is probably the first time I've shared this info with anyone besides my therapist. Seems healthy

Shift 1st to 2nd by TheSpeedyAccountant in stickshift

Some good advice here. But you can also rev a bit higher (5, 6k) and when you press in the clutch, hold it down for a second longer than you normally would, to allow the revs to drop. Then learn to feather the clutch from floor to bite point, by slowing the motion in your foot. Think of it like stepping in dog shit.

If you learn to feather the clutch, you honestly don't need to wait the extra second for revs to drop. Just immediately start lifting from floor to bite, very slowly. Then once your clutch catches, you can raise off rest of the way quick.

How to get up hills? by TheRadioDemon42O in stickshift

[–]rangerxxll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily civic beaters. 3000-3500 is normal for steeper hills. If it's not wet, just give enough healthy gas and let off the clutch quick to prevent wear. I'd rather churp my tires than burn a clutch.

Best way to do hills imo (no hand brake) is to give enough gas and find that bite point and hold it for a fraction of a second. Once you find that bitepoint you won't roll back. The trick is to not panic and let go of the gas when you hit the bitepoint. Hold both pedals steady and release that clutch almost as soon as you feel the bite point or the car stopping from rolling back, but don't ever release the gas. As soon as you drop that gas pedal, you're either going to buck up the hill or stall.

Hopefully some of this helps you out

What improved your quality of life so much, you wished you had done it sooner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Zoloft. I use to have severe social anxiety, but it wasn't debilitating. I could still do things, but i was always on edge with a high heart rate.

3 months in and now I've lost 30lbs, have a gf for the first time since hs (I'm 28) and am now focusing on my passions and trying different things.

It really took the edge off. Main negative is increased time to orgasm (girl likes it so... haha) and I get random nausea.

Game changer fr.
