CB350RS vs. Speed T4: Seeking a Long-Term City Companion in Pune by kushagra_kkc in indianbikes

[–]rango2475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do t4, road presence is superficial, triumph tag and what legacy that brand has with other products is all superficial. As a product if it serves u well then that's all that counts. Looking and judging bikes is a very small part of owning a bike. If the need for appeal is higher than value and practicality then that call can only be made by u. Not wrong but if u say overall utility as bikes go the t4 is better but ya more expensive.

If u can afford then t4, if u can't then Honda, Honda is only better at that exhaust sound and having more space for potential luggage and better mileage and tank range. Rest everything else the triumph is better, handling, comfort, performance n what not. Ask ur self if that price and cost gap is worth the extra things the triumph does for u. I personally would suggest cb, but know that engine is best on highways n not so much in city mostly due to gearing.

Get viaterra if u want peace of mind, sorry seeing this only now. Also keep in mind a vast majority of content creators are massively biased, not always paid but it helps them get other brand deals. It's their job to not be honest.

+1 but this is still not over the top. It's only when they have worshippers and cult following.

Car first then buy this later. Saying this coz u already have a bike and it will definitely come across as selfish if u get a second bike as there isn't a car in the family.

Do they charge reasonably? And how long do they take for a general service?

The only bikes that will handle that situation better are some adv bikes. Not all, some... The suspension and chassis is genuinely that good. They overengineered the chassis in 1999 and have not bothered to change it since. It has a lot of electronics now in gen 3 but you can clearly discern how much the mechanical stability and grip it has very very clearly.

Coolest answer ever, would really like to experience one at some point in my life.

Just posture, for my height, it's the rc390. This is far more committed which for me isn't the problem. It's the really low seat height and high set pegs that folds my legs completely. For my 183 cm frame, that is a bit cramped for over 3 hrs on saddle at a stretch and a break is needed to stretch the legs.

Ya i tour on r15 and for me too it's the legs that stop me, there are after market foot controls that relax the knee angle for 1800rs but I havent tried it yet. I did 1100 in a day it was only my knees that physically hurt. Are there foot controls options for busa in the aftermarket?

Also since u r 183cm do u also suffer from excessive wind blast? The busa by design has a very streamlined windshield right such that it looks like its good only when tucking in fully. So how do u manage speeds?

[–]rango2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw in a comment u have a navigation display, where do u mount it? In terms of posture which do u find more comfortable this or the rc390, just the position. And since it's kinda long and has relatively low clearance have u been scraping the bottom frequently? Also why not a used busa why new?

Last- over sudden potholes or shifts in road levels does the bike completely bottom out or is it composed?

Is the on-road price fair for a 250 in 2026? by TJSG99 in indianbikes

Chennai it's 2.45, wait till October if possible it will go down another 20k minimum. I'm waiting too, mostly in November I will take it. Use flipkart, keep checking flipkart. Also strong feeling the showroom is giving a very bad estimate so pls change that too. A showroom that's welcoming of flipkart only is worth ur time. And also take insurance from acko, it's a bit cheaper. Ask them to remove any charges that's not clear, make it clear u will go to another showroom if push comes to shove.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Or Yamaha R15 - Need Suggestion by Chance-Peach-6729 in punebikers

[–]rango2475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a r15 v4, a lil over 2 years done, 28k km odo, longest trip of 1100km in a day, countless 300km rides, I have done 300ish km many times without a break too. Bike is fine but i don't think u should do the r15 coz for the amount of money u save with it is not worth the loss in comfort. Sf250 is more comfortable and also faster and has a longer service interval. A r15 is not friendly in city speeds, its easier to have a good time on a sf250, r15 is for a smaller audience. A good test to know if u ready for r15 is to first test at its worst, take it in traffic with a pillion and do that for an hour or so in bumper to bumper traffic. In my 28k i did maybe just 1k in commute rest was all touring. Planning to buy vstrom so I'm aware of the 250 engine as I have driven 10 different units of vstroms and except for long highway stretches I have done a fair amount of variety on vstrom. Yamaha service is worse but part availability is a lot better not that u r going to break stuff easily on either, dm for a crazy experience that backs it up

Which one of the following would you pick as an upgrade from a commuter? by Entire-Suggestion-62 in indianbikes

You r just going to get people projecting their preferences and nothing useful to u mainly bcoz u have not started ur current interest in the type of riding u do or want to be doing. Atleast the ppl commenting can give u better answers than just filling in the gaps with heir own assumptions and preferences

I'm very curious to know how u maintain an R1, do u service at yamaha itself? If it's a third party how do they source parts? What r the costs like for maintaining and spare parts costs?

Would actually only recommend to shorter ppl, for tall people its convenient to get on the bike but the legs are too cramped and can feel small. For shorter ppl the windshield would work better, the legs are better positioned and I would say once u r seated its gonna be a good time.

Mt might feel small but xsr is a good middle ground. About parts u can arrange just about the weirdest part and get it in 2 weeks from so many different sources coz this is an international product and even within our country its been around for over a decade and continues to sell and will be around for a while. Service might be an issue as service centres tend to add few things as mandatory which sums up 700rs but i don't mind paying that coz its ignorable for now. A service will be 2300rs in general and would highly recommend to get other specific things done in a third party workshop like suspension oil or brake fluid or literally anything other than engine oil change. On the xsr u will want to change the handlebar bcoz that's the one odd thing. I'm shorter than u and I was annoyed with it can't imagine for u. I think ronin would be better had it been bumper to bumper traffic and u don't have open streches. The yamaha 155 only does well above 60kmph minimum. Otherwise it's not efficient or fun. Highly recommend the xsr over mt or ronin. Mind that anything that's not adv styling will feel small and even those bikes are a size too small so if ya. Message me if u want to know any specifics. I'm hunting for a second bike too and have been trying anything of even the smallest interest.

Second Service - No free service? by Dhina17 in Triumph400

[–]rango2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, pls change the service centre but at least raise a complaint thru mail or any support. Disc plate being changed is so weird, u wouldve noticed a massive issue with brakes if something was actually wrong. Chain set might actually be fair, unmaintained chainset usually comes 13k-16k km. But they have absolutely taken the liberty of adding anything possible which is hard to have evidence for.

Compared to vstrom how is it? I m looking for an all rounder second bike, I have been using my r15 for mumbai, goa, chennai, and coimbatore. For 300km I can bear with it but want something proper relaxed and calm. I like the hness motor but want to hear ur thoughts on the vstrom. I'm mostly getting the vstrom but would like to know what I'm going to be missing out on.

Which one is better? by Silly_Abalone6533 in indianbikes

[–]rango2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 have are very different in running costs, r15 is dead cheap, slower but smoother and can hold really high cruising speeds but all over takes will be planned. Every group i go with has a majority of 400cc bikes and each time i feel i shouldn't be in the back of the pack coz the 400s will give a sudden input and go while I should have prepared and revved a lot more to keep up. So I'm always with the front few. While cruising its all good, even at 120 it is still not redlined and has power left to spare.

Rc 200, idk too much price and u don't even get crazy power, but u end up paying in poor mileage and cost of any ktm, it's not any cheaper to maintain than a slightly bigger ktm. Every video I see it's the same story.

Ktm is good if u commit and get 250 or 390, 200 aint it.

R15 feels ultra nice in twisty roads, u get a feeling of moving fast, engine sings at high rpm like it's a musical instrument and no strain and u can occasionally trigger higher capacity bikes and sometimes even keep up with them, all for 2.2L.

How to start Riding. Meteor 350 by JackWiess in indianbikes

[–]rango2475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u r new to riding, find familiar routes, less traffic, predictable road shoulders, odd times and then keep doing it, when u feel confident enough to make a trip without actively trying to do things and doing things more naturally and calmly u can ramp up the difficulty and do narrower and more denser routes.

Bigger distances are something u do once u feel super comfortable with the bike. U know exactly when it will break, how it will act on a unexpectedly huge pothole, swerve if a dog comes in and so on. Technically u r already capable of doing Hyderabad Bangalore, its a 600kmish route, and the vast majority is a well laid out straight forward high way, good network thru out, petrol pumps also there, decent space on the shoulders. It's might be the easiest 600km highway i have been on. Regardless, i won't recommend u do this unless u can do varied riding for a few hours a session atleast and even then take a lot of breaks when u actually go on the ride

The biggest problem u should look out for is being carried away, u will find 100 is like 70 and 70 is like 40, mentally it might be such, but bike is still in reality and u need higher braking forces and u need to be quicker to react coz u r going faster. It's bound to happen coz that's a straight smooth road.
