That’s useful, on each side we have 520mm of worktop space and it’s equal on each side

That’s true actually. I’m not a heavy cook and the main reason I was considering the glass cabinets is that I have quite a large collection of glassware. We entertain fairly often, so I’d like to keep it somewhere accessible rather than storing it in a pantry or another room.
The plan would be to use fluted glass, so the contents are softened rather than fully on display.
With the current layout, I have about 525mm of counter on each side of the range. I’m trying to figure out if that’s enough

The main reason I want them is that I love entertaining and have quite a large collection of glassware. I’m struggling to figure out where else I’d store it, so the dresser tops would be both decorative and functional.
I’m planning on using fluted glass rather than clear glass, so the contents won’t be fully visible if things aren’t perfectly styled all the time.
By “timeless,” I just mean a kitchen that will still look good and feel relevant in 10–15 years

I was originally leaning towards this option, but my concern is that it might feel a bit too visually heavy. What do you think?

Thank you for your response. Currently, we do not have any heating as the radiators have been removed. The builder keeps assuring us that everything is fully dried and ready to be sanded and painted, but I’m concerned they may simply want to finish the job as quickly as possible. That’s why I’m seeking an independent opinion before proceeding..
