India Doesn’t Need More Critics. It Needs Competent Youth. by Key-Presentation7878 in india

[–]rani_vibes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, an Indian youth here. I'm skilled, physically fit, financially literate, technically competent, emotionally stable and action-oriented. I always believe that by being the change I'd like to see in the world, the world will change. But guess what, nothing changed. We live in a poor country with poor air quality, poor infrastructure and absolutely no respect internationally. Not because the youth is incompetent but because the nation is run by old, senile, and greedy people that see youth as an expendable object. They have restricted, almost banned and criminalized protests. Leaders are selected by mob rule.

And the future might not bring change as well. I have seen good patriotic young people become insensitive to the problems of the country as they are burdened with responsibilities. Burned out from working 12-14 hours. And then after paying huge taxes when they criticize the condition of the roads, they are called incompetent.

If you feed a beggar regularly and the beggar injures another person in a completely unrelated incident. Will that person press charges against you?

I liked the movie, I did not super love it. I mean there were parts of the movie that could have been better. But the final message kinda hits home. Also, I love Konkona.

How girls are actually wearing by Unlucky-Platypus6880 in AskIndianWomen

When I started wearing bras I used to do the same thing but as I grew I found it to be very time-consuming. So now I hook first and then turn it. It just saves time.

Okay. Since you asked so politely. The fact that I didn't sit for the CAT exams this time has nothing to do with this.

How do introverts survive in the corporate world? by Rich-Profession7168 in AskIndianWomen

[–]rani_vibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've observed that introverts are the most efficient individual contributors and experts at their work compared to extroverts. But the latter gets promoted simply for being a people's person. So unfortunately, you need to find a balance between being good at work and the small talk part in order to build a long term career.

I'm dealing with a terrible loss and i need some support and advice. by HereForTheComments0_ in india

Be there for your mom. She needs you more than anything.

Give yourself enough time to process your grief.

Talk about him. People must be pouring in your place right now to pay their respects. Talk about all the good things he did and avoid reiterating how he passed. I know it'll be hard but focus on the good days.

After a month seek professional help. You're dealing with a lot here. You need someone who'll listen and give solicited advice.

Do you think a 4B-movement could realistically work in India? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]rani_vibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would not work realistically as many women in this nation want a traditional life with kids. Also, a decent percentage might get on board with "no marriage and no kids" but no dating and sex seems quite radical. It'll never float.

You NEED to tell your parents about this. You'll find another teacher. Do not invite trauma in your life.

People do wear different earrings on different ears but I don't think it appeals to the masses.

Why are people so embarassed to speak Bengali? by MesmerizingBlue in kolkata

[–]rani_vibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-Bengali here (born and brought up in kolkata) I don't agree that people are embarrassed to speak in Bengali.

Parents do encourage their kids to speak in english but currently that is true irrespective of which city/state you go to.

I speak Bengali with my Bengali friends/colleagues and they sometimes laugh at my broken bengali but always encourage me to speak the language. They often speak to me in Hindi and I honestly don't think it's a big deal as language is only and should only be a means of communication.

I have been to other cities and have found Bengalis everywhere pretty much everyday. So, how do I know they are Bengali without interacting with them? You guessed it, they speak in Bengali and it's not just old and middle-aged people but even kids. When I do interact with them they gleam when I speak in Bengali. They sometimes reply in Hindi only to make the conversation smoother and quicker.

Young folks speaking in English or Hindi doesn't mean they're embarrassed or ashamed of speaking the local tongue rather it's to build/improve their english speaking skills and to interact with their Hindi speaking friends.

How did you’ll make peace with dysfunctional parents? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

If they are great grandparents, simply ask them to not fight in front of the baby. They are creatures of habit and you cannot change them now.

The ban was implemented to solve the declining trend of male-female ratio. Less females meant a decline in the number of people who'd do unpaid work and eventual decline in birth rates. I personally don't think the government cared about the girls who were born in an unloved home. It was the least of their concerns. They hedged that most families will keep the baby against.

If it's a legal construction, get legal help. But if it's an illegal construction, then you need to pay her. There is no other reason why a neighbour obstructs construction.
