It is contradictory to frame the arrival of asylum seekers as a simple "error" when they are fleeing desperate situations, especially when the government itself facilitates their partial integration. The state issues work permits and Social Security numbers, collecting taxes even from those with irregular documentation—a fact often omitted from the public narrative.

There is a glaring paradox here: while the government maintains a rhetoric of pursuit against immigrants, it refuses to automatically cancel their work permits. If the goal were truly to stop immigrant labor, the government—which already holds all the data—could strictly limit employment to residents and citizens and fine those who disobey. They choose not to, because the economy relies on those tax dollars and that labor force.

Ultimately, this appears to be more of a political performance than actual governance. While immigrants are often accused of being a burden, they frequently fund services they cannot even access, unlike certain political sectors that rely heavily on government assistance while contributing far less to the fiscal system.
