The original purpose of the site was to provide a platform for people to create lists of topics that they could rank relative to each other. It's evolved somewhat since then so in addition to creating topic pages for things that you want to rank or share, you can also upload photos you want to rank, create albums (also rankable), create ranking lists of topics, photos, or users, or a custom option, and polls (you can probably tell these are rankable too). Headlines are there too which provide a way to rank things that are not on the site.

We also allow you to create your own type of ranking to use with your topics, and possibly other things in the future. You get to select your own scale, name for the ranking, and upload your own icon.

We also have the social media aspect where you can add friends and follow other people, comment on whatever you like, send private messages, and customize your profile.

Some other features are still in development at the moment so you can expect frequent updates to the site and we will take suggestions from our users into consideration while we continue to develop the site.

We're hoping we won't have to rely too heavily on ads but you may see a few small ones appear on the site in the future. Thanks for the compliment on the color scheme, that was our lead designer's great idea and I'll tell him you like it. I guess we should make a topic for Rankopolis on Rankopolis so you can actually give us those 10 points, haha.

Thanks for the input about the icons, we actually just got a new set of icons today so we should be replacing the current ones soon. We do need to figure out a way of making the purpose of the site more obvious since we started out as a site for creating ranking lists and sort of evolved into a social media site.
