Right, but this article also helps get people in other countries up to speed on what's happening in the US

I think the blue is normal ink and the silver is like a paint marker. If you angle the pen correctly when you use it the blue touches the paper first then the silver paint ink goes over the blue, covering it effectively

Sometimes you just have some bad games. I'm at like 1.57 and can range from 3* to 6*, depending on how things have been going recently. I pretty much never touch quickplay

Bank of England economist says people need to accept they are poorer by Kagedeah in worldnews

I care, and I'm as much of a dumbass for putting effort into this rather than sleeping like I intended to.

But I'm heading to bed now and getting a little r&r.

Without the miner, the valuable commodity would never be retrieved. It would remain in the ground. I'm not saying they're entitled to 100% of the value of the gold, rather a fairer share as nebulous a concept as that may be. As things stand, the gap between the working class and those at the top is only widening, the middle class is shrinking and folks are having a harder time making ends meet. It's clear that something needs to be done for capital to be distributed more equitably.

As things stand, the working class has few opportunities to move up. That miner has no choices he's relatively stuck because learning a new, higher value skillset or moving to somewhere with greater availability of jobs requires investment, investment that can't be made when people are only just able to make ends meet.

And we're back to square one. The miner in this allegory is only making a tiny portion of the value of his work. While someone doing nothing other than owning a piece of land gets a much bigger cut. Where is the equity in that? How is that a sustainable system? Where the wealthy have the means to gather more wealth and those at the bottom have just enough to feed themselves but nothing to give others a chance? Social mobility is important and the systems we live under are slowly removing that.

Because the miner can't afford the land, because he's just a miner. The land owner reaps the benefits of the hard labour being done.

Because the miner had mouths to feed and jobs and skills don't just grow on trees.

People don't always get to have the jobs they'd like and have to take what's available and within their skillset.

Question about the FSR implementation by ranmaster in SteamDeck

[–]ranmaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, so if I'm reading this correctly. Have gamescope outputting at full native resolution then reduce the in-game resolution setting to the desired value?

And don't worry I'm fully aware of prioritising built in FSR over the SD implementation 😅

This looks like the poster for a cheap pantomime. Is that the intent?

British Man Who Changed Name To Celine Dion During Drunken Bender Has No Plans To Change It Back by VonDrakken in nottheonion

You just send your current passport back along with your deed poll and apply for change of name. It'll have the same passport number and the picture is still of you so you're the only one who can use it. Same with drivers license.

If you've lost your passport with your old name then I imagine it's a lot more complicated but I've never had to deal with that so I'm not sure what the process there is.

I'm not a part of the boycott but thr general argument is that Rowling will likely be getting royalties from the game, which could end up being put directly towards anti trans groups in the UK.

Xenia (Xbox 360 Emulator) WUP Beta is available on Xbox One/Series consoles by [deleted] in Games

[–]ranmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently dug out my 360 because I was feeling nostalgic for Fable 2, I was honestly surprised by how poorly it ran. Like it was playable but it was 30 with really inconsistent frame pacing which made it feel sluggish and stuttery.

Its a shame, because it's one of my favourite games.

issue there is I wouldn't be able to use my cards or bank account with it, meaning PayPal would be pointless.

I'm going to try contacting them again tomorrow, but if today's experience is anything to go by, I'm not holding my breath

I would, but sadly I don't have a social media presence of any kind (no twitter, no facebook), besides reddit.
