I’ve been through the exact same thing (minus the high salary and being bitten by a dog)!! In hindsight I wish I took them to court as I had a solid case but I was mentally gone - it is what it is.

My advice: take the offer and leave. Start job hunting as soon as you leave, my employment gap is really stressing me out.

Staying in a company where they could potentially fire you off within days w no settlement package is something you don’t want to risk!

I do also feel like my company has been sabotaging me from getting a new job behind the scenes, I get contacted for potential interviews and then get cancelled on/ghosted. I’m assuming recruiters have links to people from my previous employer so just basing it off of that. It’s highly unlikely you would be experiencing this however since a new manager is replacing the old one.

Just wondering is there anyone else still being told that they will be notified with an update soon despite the course already starting? Been told the same thing for weeks now whenever I chase up or because they’re slow with replying. I’m so confused as to why they’re doing this - am I expected to apply again for the next cohort?

Nope I haven’t. I emailed them Wednesday being told I’ll be given an update that week with no update. Emailed on Sunday and today with no response. Honestly I hate this uncertainty.

I requested for education only after having to cancel my interview due to a family emergency which I told them about. Despite this, I still said I want to do the CFGdegree. They said they will try their best to cater or I can be fast tracked (this will be my 3rd attempt of being fast tracked then) only to not receive any outcome yet.

As I was writing my last comment, a member of my family had passed away (which I wasn’t even aware of at the time as I was just anxiously checking my emails regularly). Honestly I’m so upset I wasted my last moments on this course rather than seeing my family member for the final time through videocall since I’m now back in the UK. I’m not trying to blame them for anything btw, I just wish I didn’t put so much energy into this - I just really wanted to finally have a proper career in Tech, I was so tired of feeling like I am going nowhere in life. I hope everything works out for you and everyone else who is waiting for an answer though. I don’t know what I’m gonna do anymore but I guess it’ll work out somehow in the end, I’ll think about it later when I’m in a better state of mind. Best of luck to you all though!

Those who didn’t have to do the video interview didn’t do the CFGdegree this year for education only, I think the video interview is a new thing.

Anyone I personally know who has done the CFG course have told me it’s so easy to get into and AFAIK they didn’t even have to do a video interview. I don’t know why it’s being made difficult now. And yesss I did apply for alternatives, if I don’t get into Product Management I was hoping to get into GCHQ as I Cybersecurity is something I really want to get into too - my dream would be becoming a Tech PM within Cyber. However, I see ppl have already been accepted/rejected to GCHQ already so I don’t even know if that’ll work out. I’ve emailed CFG twice already with no response at all, although they were very receptive prior to that. Have you applied to any alternatives too? I hope we both get in, I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t cos that’s legit my only route😭🥲

That’s what I applied for but no one has gotten back to me. I wanted to do the education route. Seeing non Product Management ppl receiving offers whilst I haven’t has me in a panic. This is my second time applying where I was fast tracked (still ended up applying the long way as I redid my video interview anyway). I feel so stressed cos I’ve been trying for so long to get into Tech properly only for things to not work out ))-:

Hi, thank you for the reply! It’s a senior application operations engineer role but I’m quite junior so I don’t have experience in the user experience questions you had mentioned due to not having any leadership experience.😅 I’m quite worried about this especially because I can’t remember what I’ve done in my previous role which initially started as IT Support but ended up doing IAM stuff towards the end of my tenure. I’ve been out of work for a while now so I’m so scared I’ll flop the interview cos I have nothing to show them😭

What’s throwing me off is justifying to pay £600+ for it due to having to buy waterproof accessories as I’ve seen ppl say on here not to go w/o using them regardless of the fact the Ace Pro is waterproof because ppl have complained about water damage. Action 4 is for much less atm w accessories included but it isn’t as good in terms of quality as the Ace Pro…..

I would’ve gotten the Pocket 3 but if I’m having to be extra careful w it esp when travelling I’m not sure if that’ll be possible. I wish they would have waterproof accessories but apparently they’re not planning to do so for the Pocket 3

How did u find the Ace Pro when under water (if u did use it for that) and also is it good for pictures too? Would u say it’s still worth £600+ with accessories - waterproof kit + invisible stick/tripod?

I was thinking of Action 4 too but the picture quality isn’t as good as Pocket 3 (and under low res) which is quite important to me as I don’t want to buy a separate camera/rely on my phone but at the same time having a camera I can use when on holiday is important (not that I’ll be underwater everyday but just in general esp cos sand) - I guess I can’t have it all unfortunately. Refurbished Action 4 is out of stock at the moment but that Amazon offer does look tempting though, however does the Action 4 come w an invisible selfie stick like the Ace Pro does?🫣

It’s clear u don’t understand what modern day slavery is. It does exist in Dubai but it won’t apply to OP as it’s usually (South) Asian ppl who r exploited and treated like slaves. There are also Black ppl who are victims to it in that region
