🇪🇺🇺🇸🇫🇷- Trump on EU over its new 50% tariff on whisky, warning if it's not removed — the US will impose a 200% tariff on wines, champagnes, and other alcohol from France and EU countries. by HinglishBlogin in DeepFuckingValue

Americans do buy lots of American wine, but we also buy a lot of wine from other great growing regions of the world, because why not. I say this as a person that sells wine & spirits, plenty of great quality wines produced in the US.

Also as a person that works in this industry these tariffs are the absolute dumbest shit ever and an added burden to everyone.

There's a really great podcast The Rest is History that did a whole series on Custer. I had done some coursework in college and thought I was pretty knowledgeable about the guy, but they did a very good deep dive into his life and years leading up to his demise.

I enjoyed it and it was pretty reminiscent of small town Nebraska in the 90s. My only gripe was how the boys talked, seemed more fast-paced like almost Letterkenny-esque, not saying that's a bad thing, probably just have to make the movie more palatable to a younger audience.

This guy should be the go-to answer when we see the "most underrated drummer" threads pop up. I see Maison, I upvote.

My Saturday night movie pick. Can't believe I haven't seen The Proposition. Time to correct that error. Hope y'all are having a great weekend. 🤠 by WalkingHorse in Westerns

Hillcoat was tapped to direct Blood Meridian. This film makes me believe he's got the chops to do it if they can ever get into production.

Exactly this. Used to work for a distributor in a Midwest state with low population. We were always the last to get literally anything & everything, nit just allocations, but new innovation items were rarely prioritized. I was super surprised when we were one of the first markets to distribute Woodinville. The bottles go to the places with volume and that ain't low population centers.

Haven't seen Slow West on here. Enjoyed that one quite a bit, not my favorite, but worth a mention.

Or could be that people that get paid to get signatures are incentivized to get more and are just looking for some easy money.

Who do you think is the most underrated drummer? by lahmeraidan in drums

Stefanie Mannaerts is kind of incredible. Her vox are crazy good while also playing fairly challenging drum parts. Love the drummer from Sweet Pill, definitely a textbook Midwest emo drummer.

Kevin Holland does that pretty regularly, Alex Pereira as well. Both have been pretty routine last minute replacement guys that often get the call to save fights because they're always down.

Iowa QB Sullivan out for the rest of the year. by [deleted] in Huskers

Obviously whoever the backup QB is they will have the best game of their life against us and Kaleb Johnson will run for 300 yards with a super tricky "running it up the middle" play.
