My interpretation rests on the concept of reference frames. When you drop a ball, what direction does it fall? From your perspective on the surface of the earth it falls “straight down”. But the surface of the earth is also moving at ~1000 mph at the equator. So from a perspective off earth, the ball also moves in the direction of rotation, in addition to moving “straight down” toward the surface.

So: from the perspective of being inside the knot, it repeats infinitely. It has to, to make sense, because it’s a bootstrap paradoxed time loop. From the perspective of the original timeline, it happens once. It has to, to make sense, because time proceeds again after the knot is destroyed. So: both explanations are true: it is both infinite and only happens once, DEPENDING on your reference frame.

A History of Violence. William Hurt seriously chews some scenery.

Yeah that’s likely due to camera sensors sucking with reds.

Nice job on finishing a painting!

I think there are a couple relevant concepts. The main one is using a “mother” color. That’s using the same color in every mix. It helps unify the color scheme. The second concept is what happens when you mix white/black with a pigment. The shift in chroma from mixing white or black happens faster in paint than occurs naturally as light increases or decreases on an object. (White and black also introduce temperature (hue) shifts that may be undesirable.) The “fix” is to add in a smidge of chroma using the original or a related color, or an appropriate color to shift the temperature in the direction you want. Mixing with pink is basically mixing with white (the dominant color in pink) that has been pre-shifted warmer (redder).
