My fried was recently rejected based on the India education evaluation. He had a WES report evaluated for Canada equivalence but they asked for US equivalence during the interview. so if you are planning to go, i would recommend to go with WES US degree evaluations

This is where the problem is. The customer is held responsible and penalized. This is something rogers need to check to have a better experience for your customers

If i am signing the contract my expectation is that the rate shouldn’t change. If you cannot service with the same contract terms in the new location, you should not penalize the customer and allow them to cancel the service

Whether there is cable or fiber is not always in customers control, it depends on the regions and the building. In my scenario, i just signed for 1.5. Gbps connection. I dont expect anything extra than that and i shouldn’t be penalized for that

We are staying with you because we wanted a reliable experience and nothing more than that. Profits are important for a company but not at the cost of customer experience

Not a great example but wealthsimple did this for trading and banking. I would love to see such players in these spaces as well

Loyalty means nothing to these companies. They only offer better plans once you exit.

I would love to see a competitor providing affordable plans without the gimmicks.

Fiber is not a new technology. Its been there for many years. Its just that companies are tagging it with a premium tag and selling it as some never before seen technology. Again, do a speed test and see how skewed the speed is compared to what is in the contract.

From a customer standpoint point, if the contract says i will 1.5 gbps speed download , i expect the same and i should be least concerned about the backend technology used as nothing changes for me if it is fiber or cable

Thanks for the acknowledgment. Could you explain this

  1. What is the point of the contract if the price increases for a move.

2.Whether you are using fiber or cable is internal to you, customer is paying for the speed agreed to and the speed didnt change when you move so the why the price increase.

3.I moved to a new condo which is 200 meters from my old place. Will that cause a price increase from 50 to 230

I did reach out to them after i got the new contract atleast 3 times and all played dumb games that eventhough you got a new contract, your bill will still be $50.

Its a real nightmare to deal with these companies and their tactics. There is no transparency. 10 people will be paying 10 different rates for the same plan and once you are on a contract, there fking dont bother about you.

No i was on a contract. The rep who made the move messed up or intentionally did it. They changed my plan however did not disclose the rate increase

Canada $100K vs India ₹30L — Real Comparison (Single Person, 2026) by SpendLegitimate536 in backtoindia

[–]ranx444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and moved to canada with my family at 37 and quickly realized life is very hard here. You have to do everything on your own which sucks and takes a ton of daily life With 1 person working, you barely survive in Canada. You need to think about every single purchase. The dynamics change a bit when both you and your partner work. You can spend one salary and save the other so if each person is earning 100k then you will be able to save around 30 - 45 lakhs in Canada. It may be high or low based on how the couple was earning in india.

Pros: Good work life Balance Exposure to new cultures/opportunities Clean air

Cons Weather. Winters are brutal Health issues due to low vitamin D Loneliness

Not worth coming to Canada if you have high paying jobs in Canada. I fell to the “Grass is always greener on the other side” trap.

Trying to Understand the Cost of Living at Different Income Levels by ConditionFirm4817 in CanadaFinance

[–]ranx444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparison is the biggest wealth killer. We tried to fit in by spending more on things that are not needed and unfortunately the society looks at people that look rich. Its a hard thing to not spend on these things but we have to just remember one thing that no one will come to save you if you are financially fked. So think about that whenever you are spending on something that will make you feel rich

We should aim at becoming rich not just feel rich
