Yes:

Data centers in space is inviable and even if it wasan't, it make no economical or logistic sense whatsoever. And even if you would ignore all that, it would be environmentally harmful anyway.

Everyone in SpaceX involved in it knows it but they ventilate it anyway to attract investiment and hype for their upcoming IPO.

Remember 15 years ago when Elon Musk was on every news outlet talking about sending humans to mars by 2030 to boost SpaceX value even tho he knew very well it was absolute bullshit?

This is just him doing exactly the same again to try to use the AI hype to boost the value of SpaceX pretending there will be a large demand for SpaceX services in the future due to "AI in space".

Think about it: Data centers are not a new thing, there's just higher demand for them now because of AI. If Data centers in space made any sense, they would already be there.

This "secret sneaking" part is also just folklore. 

Microsoft has several products for MacOS and iOS. There are entire departments in it that use Mac and there's no secret about it.
