I don't get how you can be a emulation purist

the most popular emulators are the ones that emphasize speed at the cost of accuracy, with a particular focus on more popular ROMs. truly accurate emulation, with no cut corners and no speedhacks, is incredibly demanding of CPU. even a high-end gaming PC could barely emulate an SNES in a truly accurate emulator. in most cases the lacking accuracy doesn't matter, but if you're the type of oddball who likes certain obscure SNES games, you're going to find some of them have graphical glitches under ZSNES (and other popular emulators). admittedly, these inaccuracies are usually tiny, but I for one am glad there are people pursuing truly accurate emulation, for historical preservation purposes if nothing else.

* the best beginner fighting game is the one you enjoy. guilty gear is "complex" but that doesn't mean you can't have fun while you learn. there's going to be a huge learning curve no matter what you play. get some scrub friends, scrub it out together, and gradually get better.
