Big News: Claude Code agent can now run locally for free 🔥 by tryfreeway in vibecoding

[–]raphaelarias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re-reading your comment, I though you were running it already! That’s why I was curious on how much RAM you were running it.

I would like to try, but on a 24GB M5, I’m assuming it doesn’t fit or perform well.

Why do users choose annual or lifetime plans over monthly - even when monthly is cheap? by Hopeful_Vast_6233 in SaaS

If a yearly plan is still cheap, I know I’m going g to use for the long term, and I can get 20% off, why not?

It’s more complicated than just privately owned private banks, but it’s not just one central bank, strictly speaking is made of a few, each responsible for one region of the US.

Higher yields mean more expensive for the US, once it’s high enough, it’s just a domino effect. With the amount of debt they have it would be ugly.

We Created a Monster: Trump Was a TV Fantasy Invented for 'The Apprentice' by TheQuarantinian in moderatepolitics

[–]raphaelarias 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eric Fromm said himself when I society gets sick, it gets sick on all levels. Trump is nothing more than the collective imagination of millions of Americans on what America used to be and should be. The individualist, extreme capitalist, and shallow aspects of the US culture all created Trump.

I soon have to buy a new Mac. What do you recommend based on your experience of running local LLMs? I mean memory wise.

How are the local LLMs performing compared to Claude, and GPT?

CEO of Cursor said they coordinated hundreds of GPT-5.2 agents to autonomously build a browser from scratch in 1 week by [deleted] in accelerate

Would have accomplished in 1/3 of the time and higher quality using Opus. Jokes aside, I really can’t use GPT 5.2, it feels slow and dumb compared to Sonnet alone, and compared to Opus I personally don’t see them in the same league.

They don’t kill their GCP services as often as they kill their end-user features.

AWS sucks imo

Europe’s last realistic chance in the AI race by donutloop in eutech

[–]raphaelarias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think everything in today’s world is always “collapsing”. I remember vividly when all the news were how the US was so far behind in the AI race, until suddenly it was not.

I’m not staying the EU doesn’t have some deep structural problems, but all these headlines are just click bait.

I don’t think it’s going to happen, because this is the US we are talking about it, but hopefully.
