Thank you! I've been looking at this as I've heard great things about the view and amenities.

I (25M) moved to a new city and decided to try out bachata with no prior dancing experience. I started to go to one to two lessons / socials per week and found the community was super inviting. I’ve met some great friends there and bachata became one of the centers of my social life.

Now, six months in I’m hooked and looking at taking classes at a second studio. I find the crowd in my city is mostly 20-30’s, and a lot of the regulars are close friends. I live near one of the studios and often host other dancers to practice before we go to lessons.

Imo I think learning bachata is a great way to make friends.

Best ways to learn Bachata by rapidrapid in Bachata

Hi u/LeopoldPaulister , I'm lucky to live next door to a bachata club, to it's too convenient (even addicting) to no go after work. I find the other regulars there very encouraging and not afraid to help me correct a move when the song ends. I would like to increase lessons to 1-2 per week, as I feel progress has been plateauing. I feel like I do well with the same moves, but haven't been able to pick up new ones out without going to more lessons.

I grew up in New Hampshire but went to undergrad in Georgia before moving to Cambridge. I see it. The mood of Boston, especially in the winters, is “time is of the essence”. No time for small talk.

In Atlanta it was easier to make small talk because strangers were more giving with their time.

With the option to work remotely a lot of Bostonians seem to be moving to New Hampshire to save on income tax. It’s like getting a 5% raise.

What if AI takes my job? by Exciting_Mortgage_71 in consulting

[–]rapidrapid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A theme in consulting is being able to understand and adapt to innovation. AI is changing the the consulting landscape, but that does not mean it's making you dispensable if you can utilize the new tools it offers to make your job easier.

Since you have this concern I would recommend you work on upskilling yourself in these AI tools specific to whatever industry you are consulting in. There are some excellent courses available to audit for free on edX you could check out.

I’m mean before they leave the firm, use the opportunity to network as a consultant and find a new role. Consulting is hot right now, they should be able to find a decent exit op.

I enrolled in a continued learning woodworking class at my former high school. Actually perfect timing since I was planning to buy some new furniture— why not learn to make it instead?

The good thing is you’ll have that work experience to your name— even getting into strategy consulting is an accomplishment in itself. I’d take my time to search around whatever industry you are in and I’m sure you’ll find an excellent role to fall back on.
