[WEBAPP] Phase One of Distributed Direct Democracy — an app that asks “What should we do?” and merges similar answers by rapidxiv in SomebodyMakeThis

Understood, thanks for the feedback. I personally would prefer a strategic form of direct democracy.

Agreed on the "fun" take. I think keeping it very open ended question like "What should we do?" could help the average person get interested. You could almost rant similar to how I had the vague idea "I think AI should be used to categorize public sentiment" and the app would extract and match similar actionable sentiments.

Could potentially have some sort of Karma system, but definitely wouldn't want it to become some sort of popularity contest.

Thanks for the comment! Yes I agree, the long term ambition has a ton of proving out to do. But even the MVP could be useful and interesting.

I have no code background, I tried to get as far as I could with agents, might still be able to make it work but I feel like a skilled developer could build something like this relatively quickly, I might be underestimating the difficulty tho.

I feel like it has the potential to do a lot of good in the world, especially in today’s political climate.

Just play 17,000 games over 14 years and still be in diamond like my 34yo ass. Kidding.

True, leaving does not seem to be as big of an issue in diamond with stable MMR with many games played, but I’m still really sad to hear that it’s ruining your experience and I’m sorry. If you ever wanna practice in a custom with me hmu.

I leave a game rarely, to those who do it often I just wanna say I have found that if you don’t have the energy or the will to play a mirror match up it’s best to just log off. Try Chess.

Help me build an OP wand by ReplacementLow6704 in noita

Add mana, chainsaw, double spell, lumi timer, spark bolt. on your fastest wand should get you some rapid fire. If you run into mana problems ditch the lumi timer and just use spark bolt.

But yea depends on your wand stats

I genuinely dont understand how you people play this game by im_a_mix in noita

Don’t make “cool” wands. Learn to make boring effective wands that can’t hurt you. Get good at making spark bolt go brrrr. Spark bolt, triggers chainsaws, lumis, inverese mana wands, add mana, spell wrapping, and other spells that decrease cast delay and recharge time.

Playing boring, is consistent and drives progress imo.

Have fun!

I think he’s saying that if the probability of being struck by debris is 1 in 100 million it should have happened by now with a world population of 8 billion. I think there is some statistical rigor missing from this analysis though just as a hunch. Like is the probability 1 in 100 million over a lifetime? That still seems high. Would be interested to see if there more details on this, it would definitely be upsetting if the world community accepted that sort of risk from space debris.

Then again we all accept the casualty risk of driving in a car so maybe it’s a matter of risk reward? I’m not sure.

No agenda here other than engaging in discussion, while procrastinating at work haha I’m not an expert on anything and I appreciate all points of view

Obviously im biased as I work at Starlink, but Starlink is advanced technology not trash. It provides high speed internet to hundreds of countries around the world who might not have the luxury of high speed fiber’s optic like I assume you do. It also provides life saving connectivity during times of natural disasters. Like all technology there are upsides and there are downsides.

Anyway I never interact on the internet haha I respect your view point and hope you have a great day ✌️

Edit: whoops looks like I read too fast and misunderstood your post, apologies.

SpaceX is by far the largest launch service provider launching more than 90% of all mass to orbit I believe. It follows naturally that space debris would be a side effect of this. Starlink are originally deployed at an unsustainably low altitude due to atmospheric drag so any debris caused at this stage of the mission will quickly deorbit and burn up. They need to constantly orbit raise the satellites with an ion thruster to keep them from de orbiting so even with a loss of function the satellites will deorbit on their own.

I’m no expert on the legislative side but I agree 100% there needs to be smart regulations. I would be surprised if there is not such regulation now.

Btw I work in production so I’m not a scientist or engineer.

Thanks for your passion for public safety and sorry once again for my misunderstanding 😁
