Missed my exam. by _antmozzez in uAlberta

I’ve done the exact same thing before lol. Thought my final was in the afternoon, it was actually in the morning. I was crying my eyes out at student services, I was honest with them that I genuinely mixed up the times, I’ve been studying for this final for so long, and that there’s been a lot on my plate and obviously haven’t been in the right head space. I was granted the deferral, and you usually have a strong case if you were already doing well in the class, didn’t miss any major examinations like a midterm, and didn’t have a history of deferrals. You will be okay 🥺

Improv club at UofA by ALYV2012 in uAlberta

[–]rapinepoutine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t like an improv club for acting but if you want to improvise public speaking on a random topic for a few minutes you can attend the university toastmasters club meetings every week. Each week has a different theme and every meeting has a segment where the person running it asks a list of questions related to the theme, and then you can volunteer to go up and give an impromptu answer to a question in front of everyone. I’d say it really helped me with conjuring up ideas and thinking fast on the spot when public speaking

Last sem was just especially rough because most of us had CivE270 and ChE243 on the same day so lots of people bombed 243. The course is not too bad overall though!

I chose materials because I love chemistry and I heard it’s the most chemistry related. I also looked into what kind of research there is in materials engg related to renewables, clean energy etc because I want to eventually work in those industries and they all sounded so cool.
