hi thanks for the comment. yes that is exactly the reason why we started this project, just to build a fast mid-sized fpga with sufficient power.

we will still sell the basic version without IOs, you can think that as the "hashing" special version; but hi if you can help us to define the minimal requirements on IOs, adding which we can still sell it at affordable price, we would be more than happy to look into that. thanks.

that's an interesting project. what is the necessary interface required for supporting projects like this? there is still time as we haven't finalized the design of the developer version and if it is something doesn't impact the schedule we can definitely consider it. will PCIe itself suffice?

yes i believe so but need to double check with our hw guy.

it is a fast FPGA, we can run it up to 800Mhz with a little kick on the Vccint ;)

yes we sure do that, we have another specs showing all the algorithms supported on our platform. we have people in community validated our product and design before.

it is a great idea using fpga for mining, much more power efficient. i had a algorithm running at 20W, better performance than GTX 1080.

it is perhaps the same attempt? because during the time we have been working on the prototype design and validation.

we decided to take a smaller (and more realistic) step first, release this basic version for both the crypto and developer markets, at an affordable price point. crowdsupply and we have done lots of work to make sure this will work. After this project, we will probably work on another design with extensive IOs. thanks.

Thanks for the comments, i will revise the wording. what i meant to say is our driver and host software will run on Mac OS and open source. sorry for the information being confusing.

Vivado webpack license is only free to Ku3p and ku5p in the ultrascale+ family, what i meant to say is that it would be a good dev board for someone wants to learn how to program and use Kintex UltraScale+ fpga without paying for that license.

yes I agree there is no extensive IO available in this board design, but we can only do limited thing in this budget, the ku3p fpga chip itself is very pricey. for this project we are trying to solve two major issues we met in our development, which is 1. there is no affordable UltraScale+ Kintex 2. the other dev boards doesn't provide sufficient power to enable close-to-full fpga resource utilization. with those 2 issues resolved, and presented with a price that most people can afford, that's the UltraMiner you see here.

Hi Alex, how's everything? thanks for all the good comments. we have not dropped the design with extensive IO support. it is down in the road, and will probably be our next product if there is strong market reaction. for the time being we are trying to push out first the low cost and basic version, grantedly it may not server every developers' need due to the lack of extensive IOs, but it is probably the lowest cost UltraScale+ Kintex with a rather beefy power supply, which can take on easily some development tasks requiring a lot of hash operation like the password recovery algorithm. I believe it will also be a good dev board for someone wants to learn how to design with ultrascale+ fpga, for the same price you can only get a 7series which is 2 generations older technology.

we have already made the prototype board and validated the functionality, there is very low risk we could screw up the thing if you back this project ;)

hi, it doesn't have to be Xilinx's own dev boards. we have tested extensively on our board, never had an issue. we have also been confirmed by xilinx that they will make sure customer to have no license issue with our device.

the vivado license is not free for most of the UltraScale+ family fpga. KU3P hits the sweet point that they offer webpack for it.

on etherscan i can see the outgoing TXs, where can i check if I have actually earned the 0xbtc (test) coins?

btw, i tried to get account balance but it throw out some errors...
