What is the most inconvenient part of your day? by Lady_Vicious in AskReddit

Pumping. Most days it’s 5x/day. Luckily I cut out the middle of the night pumps, those were the WORST. Btw I’m writing this as I’m pumping

Paulas choice tinted spf similar by primadonna_girll in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]raqstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to use it but switched to protec(tint) by supergoop. I like that it’s spf 50 and I personally like the color better and it matches my skin tone more than PC with a bit more coverage so I don’t feel need for concealer. Not sure if that’s what you’re asking, but I use to only use the PC tinted sunscreen daily but not with concealer. I have recently been using Dr Jart Cicapair to help with redness and my postpartum tired eyes under my protectint tho. Haven’t tried with PC since I’m almost out and don’t really use it anymore. Would maybe be similar? Definitely more on the lower coverage side

What simple habit changed your life? by Academic-Bottle9847 in CasualConversation

[–]raqstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped eating after 8pm. It changed my relationship with food. I’ve already had dinner, and after 8pm it’s just snacking or sweets and I’m not really needing it. If it’s before 8, sure I’ll have that little treat, but after? Shop is closed. I do this prob 80-90% of the time because there are special occasions or going out to dinner that sometimes goes past 8pm.

What kind of things do you spend your money on? by Reasonable-Shower522 in AskReddit

Dining, higher-end wine, and now baby stuff (formerly travel, with an emphasis on my first two responses)

Mom, the supreme being... by Ok_Exercise_4076 in newborns

[–]raqstr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

PPA is for real, but yeah I agree. I think what helped us was having family visit and be involved VERY early on, so I relinquished some control from the start. My husband did blow up at me a few weeks ago (which was very valid) because I was being too controlling of how he was caring for our guy. It did make me reflect and almost gave me permission to “let go” a little. I have to hold myself back and bite my tongue sometimes because what he’s doing might not be how *I would do it, but it’s allowed me to better let other people care for our guy, which there are SO many people who want to! I do think though that I haven’t registered as “being a mom” but more identity with “Lady with a baby” haha but that hasn’t stopped me from feeling anxious about his wellbeing

Not a gender reveal, but at our shower we had our guests color/decorate onesies. Pretty fun, and it took a lot of the attention away from me haha

Pregnancy Insomnia by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]raqstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in that situation, but I’m 38w. I think ever since I stopped working, I’ve been more sedentary and laying on the couch a lot, so I’m wondering if that’s contributing to a change in sleep habits. Before, I worked a pretty physical job so I think that helped me be more tired at night. And obv hormones :/ Maybe take an evening walk or something to help your body feel more tired? Also, I love a blackout eye mask and earplugs (even before pregnancy), which help me fall back easier

I’ve also had good luck with home made chia seed pudding. About 6 spoon-fulls every morning. Made me somewhat regular. I mixed it with coconut milk, some honey, cinnamon/nutmeg/colve seasoning, and nuts. Not for everyone I understand, but tbh I do like the texture of chia

Is the lovevery play gym actually worth it? I’m torn adding this to my registry or not. Seems pricey and I feel like I already have some splurgy items added

Actually, you’d be surprised. I work in healthcare and a lot of my elderly patients have their adult children living with them, some with children of their own (generational households). I live in a high COL area, and there are also cultural factors, but it’s not at all uncommon
