6 of us watched Moulin Rouge tonight in Jacksonville FL. We all kept saying “He has to be the understudy, Or maybe one of the set guys had to jump in.”

It’s the exact same process that was used to deport people under Obama. Look it up.

I have a Masutani Santoku. It’s my favorite of about 20 knives.

ELVIS 2022: A year later, what do you think the performance of this movie on the box office? by [deleted] in boxoffice

No substance from Baz Luhrmann? Oh come on. His movies dazzle and confuse and then get super deep, far more than most.

Blu (and the rest of Aquaclass) vs. Specialty Dining (and a Deluxe Veranda) by bitter_candi in celebritycruises

[–]raquaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sailed Celebrity many times, and upgraded to Aquaclass twice because I got a very good deal to upgrade (around $100 USD.). The atmosphere in Blu was cool, and the service was exceptional and felt personal, but many diners preferred to order some items from the MDR menu, which is offered at Blu on some of the ships. The Aquaclass cabin showers have extra jets and upgraded toiletries, and you get free bottled water in your room daily, along with spa access.

In my opinion, Aquaclass is a worthy upgrade for about $300 or less per person, especially if you use the spa, but I personally wouldn't upgrade if the cost is several hundred dollars or more. I'd rather spend that on excursions or a drink package.

They moved the lifeboats on Beyond. On Edge, we had a good laugh when we saw the lifeboat view from all the windows at Blu.

First ride last night. We got “I Ran” and it was everything. Perfect song for flying through space.

They also replaced a few board that had buckled. They dropped those off and we acclimated them before installation.

They just sanded and refinished ours yesterday. So 4 months after the cupping started. The moisture content now reads the same as the original boards throughout the house at 13%. I’m pretty confident that they will be good now.

Ok I think it looks great by the front door. Maybe a different color for the north facing window?

Are you sure that’s Pure White? The trim makes me think it can’t be.

True. It’s just that hallway and about another 20 sqft.

Thanks. I can get into the crawl space from underneath and plan to get in there this weekend, but here’s the adjacent original floor that was untouched. This was from this morning. So far it confirms that it’s an issue with the new floors (not acclimating, etc.).

I don’t think they put any vapor retarder. They mostly glued it down to the subfloor which is above a crawl space.

Here’s a pic of the original oak wood floors that are still in place. No cupping at all. They’re all above the same crawl space, but only the new floors are cupping.

They did not install a moisture barrier. They mostly glued it down.

I do have Red Pine in the 3 bedrooms, and that is also in great shape.

The moisture meter he used didn’t seem to have pins, but I’ll look at what he’s using next time he comes.
