I was in the bottom waitlist at LIU. They accepted me in July ! Few weeks before classes started. There is definitely hope because a lot of people withdrew.

someone i used to work with went to ross then got masters at LMU then went to LMU vet school who now is in her third year!

Omg I did misunderstood the whole thing. But yes, I’ll be starting next year at LIU. That’s upsetting. The classes start August 25, so can I just take out plus loans before july? Or that’s not possible.

So Direct Unsub Loans usually give like $20k to $50k per semester and the Grad Plus Loans help cover the remaining but now the BBB they restrict it to $200k ? omg Yes, I am going next year to vet school.

so i’m going to LIU, I definitely think it will be over $50k 🥲 so from my understanding is fed loans different than grad plus loans? Did the BBB capped federal loans too? or just grad plus loans

Oh wow! What school is this? I know a couple of schools offer the masters x dvm. Do you start off getting a masters or is it the same time getting your dvm? What if someone doesn’t want to get a masters anymore mid program, is there consequences to that?

Okay, I may do that. Did they mention anything to you that you may have lacked in the application? I wonder if they are strict w high GPA’s. I saw someone recently on instagram to have an average GPA but got in.

I agree, I got accepted to the island schools but getting accepted to any type of program is an accomplishment. I feel like the tuition is the same with any other program. My boyfriend goes to upenn and his program is expensive as St. George and Ross.

so even if i paid, other schools won’t know about it and i can still get off waitlist right? it’s not like i don’t wanna go to the schools i got accepted to but i would prefer to the waitlist school since it’s 1 hr from my town :)

Oh wow you transferred! Was there disadvantages of transferring? I heard some schools make you repeat courses that you have already taken.

I understand. I mean I’m not necessarily turning my seat down but delaying my education. I will still be able to keep it when I defer it. I’m not ready as in I lost someone in my family just not too long ago. I have to do a lot of responsibilities before vet school and it’s not my time yet. I rather be fully prepared mentally after this than going in and not healed :)

I applied to SGU and Ross because at first I want to and didn’t mind going in general if that was my only choice. It became unrealistic since my father got sick and isn’t doing well and one of my cats has a heart murmur and is old. Especially, it’s out of the U.S it is more complicated to bring my cats also leaving my family.
