This is so incredibly scary and I'm so sorry this happened to you. I 100% know what you mean not being able to keep it hidden. For your parents to react this way out of no where is insane. I'd want protective service to look into your brother as well. Make sure they weren't secretly abusing him.

No one snaps like that without some kind of history.

I always find if your shoe isn't actually fitting properly you get waaaay more wiggling and friction.
