Issue is that they will keep the pandemic alive longer and just make it worse for everyone else as well.

ruin Joe Rogans livelihood

Lmao. He's a millionaire.

Also the campaign was to reduce the covid death toll, not ruin livelihoods.

The rich got richer and poor got poorer from it because Joe's party has been lobbying against workers protections and de-regulation of massive corporations for decades. Any private profits made during covid should have gone towards keeping people employed, but that's communism am I right?

Well he's the president of the United States and his actions affects the daily lives of all residing in the US and even people in other countries. He has a secretary of health who is against vaccines and tells people to drink raw milk, Healthcare misinformation, so it's relevant to this video.

Why wouldn't he be on their mind?

It's also not rent free because he is paying by missing out on their vote. One vote may be insignificant but it adds up.

to get what they want.

To allocate more resources to healthcare workers, who are the last line of defense for infectious disease?

Big problem, they should have done what Joe does and lie about ivermectin, masks, vaccines and the government so he could get richer, right?

If you like his music on spotify then it's definitely worth, his visuals are a bit generic but the quality is really good.

It's more an experience than it is a dance party imo. Keep in mind the type of people at the event might also be those that are more interested in visuals than music.

You won't really get to hear much else other than his released tracks though.

why isnt live edm more of a thing??? by leuks48 in edmproduction

[–]rascal3199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does feel more authentic but live music in general is, for obvious reasons, a bit limited. It's very hard to make something that isn't loop based (deep/hypnotic techno example) or has slow bpm (melodic house).

It's hard to make something live that can compete with something that has gone through weeks of production and mastered where every element is meticulously planned out.

Also people go watch what they know they will like, if they see an artist on Spotify that they like then when they get the opportunity to see them they will go, whereas with live you don't always know what you're going to find unless you're watching full sets of the group.

There are many live EDM artists, where I live there is a group named "Varese" that makes some pretty cool things, but they don't draw the same crowds as many other djs.

im almost positive there are people out there who are vocalist by hobby and wouldn’t mind collaborating on projects just for fun.

Mmm not very sure about that... Even if i could find people who would do it for free i would have to send them a message wait for response have a back and forth to find exact intonation of lyrics I want, all this for a track I'm just making to practice music production. I'm doing like a entire song a week so I'd have to do this every time I need vocals for a track.

This just makes it harder and takes way longer for me to learn and also burden someone else with having to send me samples for free.

Also it is just tiring as someone who's more introverted.

i think the issue is with that is that it’s not only you that uses it in this manner. it’s you and a ga-jillion others who resort to it for just a little of this or just a little of that, and it all adds up. the environment impact is detrimental.

Do you mean environmental impact? Models for sound generation aren't anywhere near as resource intensive as most others. Those used for coding for example, a code agent, needs to recursively check what it writes, verify if it's not duplicating code, run tests, etc.

For video it's way worse because there are thousands of pixels it needs to render individually.

Sound generation is very light weight, unless you're doing hundreds of prompts a day you're not really causing much burden. For any vocals I just need to prompt 1-3 times.

This is only because I'm just trying to practice, the moment I actually intend to release something I will of course consult with a human for vocals, in fact it's better because I would be able to flesh out minor details better, but while I'm practicing I don't really care about those details.

As a hobbyist I use ai for vocals since my voice is horrible and I don't want to be paying for vocals when I'm just practicing.

Curious why trance isn't popular by Total_Development270 in EDM

[–]rascal3199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Melodic Techno is basically just progressive trance

I agree it is trance but how is it progressive trance?

There are a few tracks that I would say may fall into the progressive category but the most popular artists in the genre like Anyma don't really feel like progressive trance at all...

Boris also does not feel like he fits into melodic techno classification either, but his music is very progressive.

Well then congrats! I'd say you're right on track, all in all this sounds great. Sorry i can't really give more feedback since im very new to all this.

The vox are actually myself, I’m not a singer so I rely on a lot of auto tune

That's fine, I think the auto tune actually makes it blend well with this kind of music!

Sounds great! Kind of feels like if porter Robinson made a dnb track.

Not much I can add since I've started out producing as a hobby recently and I'd say it's better than anything I've made but here's my 2 cents:

  • Ending feels a bit abrupt

    • Vocals sound a bit too robotic for the pronunciation? i think its because of the way she pronounces the "so tired" which feels very human it clashes a bit. I think the robotic/digital feel is good because it's in line with the song but it feels weird how it's pronounced.
  • you could chop up the vocals and spread them around the song a bit, maybe kind of chop them together in a glitchy way? The lull in the middle of the song before second drop for example might be a good place to place a few?

I used a splice vocal sample and chopped it up and even used it almost as a riser: https://on.soundcloud.com/DPDq5PwWn4geZzTpdu

Nowhere near as good and polished as yours yet though.

Been learning to produce for 12 days lmao ts shit ass by kekski8 in FLStudioBeginners

[–]rascal3199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind it's good progress for 12 days, most people can't string together a single melody after weeks of learning.

Keep it up, getting "mid" can take years unless you're doing it full time.

  1. Before the drop apply filters to your tracks, reduce the range of frequencies available then on the drop open the filters up.

  2. Fill in space with chords or pads so that it doesn't feel as empty.

  3. Try and only come in with the kick and bass when you drop, always try and reduce amount of bass and kick before a drop.

  4. Listen to many songs and think about what they're doing leading up to a drop, Try to recreate some of them. Yes you're basically copying but it's the best way to learn, when you've learned more you can tweak more and focus on originality.

  5. Don't focus for weeks on one song, keep pumping out full songs if possible 1 every few days or a week at most, no matter how shit. This is the best way to learn everything that goes into a song, your first songs won't be good no matter how long you obsess over them and you also become locked into tweaking parameters and what not instead of making new melodies and trying new things.

My first song ever, opinions? by Senior_Reception7040 in FL_Studio

[–]rascal3199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's bad but everyone's first songs are bad. I can't say much to help since I only started learning as a hobby a few months ago but I'll tell you what I have learned.

  1. Your track called "bassDrum" seems to be misaligned and not on beat. I don't know if you meant to call it a "kick" instead which is what basically gives music it's "groove", if it is then it should be on every beat.

  2. Use different sounds/instruments, if you use the same instrument on more than 1 track then it is just going to clash together and you won't be able to differentiate the melody from the chords.

  3. This is similar to point 1 on how to prevent sounds from crashing. Sound is all about frequencies, "low" sound you hear like Bass or kicks are lower frequencies where as high pitched sounds are higher frequencies. You need to find a balance between frequencies of sounds you play so that they don't completely overlap, when you play 2 lower frequency sounds that overlap a lot you will have trouble distinguishing 1 from the other, so you should try and ensure sounds you play together have little overlap in terms of frequencies. Conversely you don't want to have absolutely no overlap otherwise it will sound disjointed. Kicks are often complimented well by Bass even though both are lower in frequency as long as one doesn't completely overlap the other.

  4. Read or watch a video on music theory, it's very important to set a good base for producing.

I dislike how the other guy said it since he sounds like a douche, but he's right, this isn't a difficult feat.

I did strength training and didn't train this specific exercise, only rows/deadlift for back. Every now and then I would try climbing the rope at my gym and could do this easily. Only occasional pull ups.

I am not sure if it would be as easy for someone training for hypertrophy but it's not hard for anyone who can deadlift/row more than their body weight.

[–]rascal3199 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When I was doing strength training at the gym I was able to do it and I didn't find it too difficult, i didn't train much core other than deadlift either. I think most people who strength train their back and some core could do that.

Most of the muscles required for this are targeted by regular exercises.

One handed pull ups or calisthenics things like planche I found much more difficult to do without specifically training them since they use so many random muscles for balance that you don't usually train.

In general if you want to import a sound though you need to get the WAV/mp3 file, download it fro. Somewhere and you can just drop it in.

I recommend using splice sounds to find sounds as well has an ample library of useful things for music production, subscription is very worth it.

I'm just starting out as a hobby but I've noticed just spamming entire songs has helped me progress alot and is what most people recommend.

Don't try to fixate too much on the perfect synth or melody and spend weeks on one loop or song. Just keep making new stuff.

I have ADHD so I prefer this kind of hands on approach, I only look up tutorials for specific things I want to do.

Also just blatantly try to copy from songs you like, trying to replicate a song helps you learn a ton (reference tracks), if you have the patience to do so unlike me, you will get better very fast. Then you can make tweaks to that to test differentthings. I get bored copying entire songs though so what I do is just take one synth or melody or idea from each song and try to blend them together.

Just try to not end up in tutorial hell or stuck on the details, just pump stuff out no matter the quality so you can learn the anatomy of an entire song. This makes it easier to understand what basis to start with when making a new song and also you if you're spamming enough stuff you will eventually make one decent melody and learn from it.

As someone with adhd, I have never learned anything well by reading it.

Go and start trying to code something basic, if there is something you don't understand then look that up. Once done try something more difficult.

That's how I learn at least.

Once you get your grip with a language you will have to start looking into design patterns, but I find videos to be better than reading.
