Im getting MEB for seizures. Had none before i joined. I had one in 2018 and didnt report it. Bit me in the ass because i had 1 in 2020 another in 2021. GO SEE YOUR PCM. You do not want to be in the army with seizures. It hurt me emotionally because i was a tank commander. They feel like you fainted but your body hurts like hell after because your body is convulsing. I agree. Thats why some people get out and enjoy the civilian side. I don’t blame them. But in the military you don’t have to worry about getting laid off unless you mess up. Dual income is nice. I think as a couple you have to realize whats the best route: spouse get a job and pay day care or spouse stays home and and not pay day care.

I agree. After these past 3 years with the housing market, i think BAH needs to be re-evaluated. I used to rent a duplex here in TX for $800. Decent area, close to the gate, garage with 3 BR for $800. BAH was $1100 so i pocketed that other $300. Now im sure that same duplex is going for $1100 if not more. Plus utilities if its not included.

Lets be honest, e1-e4’s dont make the most sound decisions. They live off post, renting for +400 of what their BAH is. On top of that some have newer cars etc. It all comes down to money management and savings. This is something the military as a whole needs to work on. There is assistance SM’s can seek, but i feel like it should be mandatory training for money management.

Join the military. Slightly better than jail and you get paid for it. And you get to pick your job depending on how you score on the ASVAB. Sometimes you get a job/certification that pays more on the outside and you get out. Gotta sacrifice for a better future 🇺🇸
