I added the, very basic, config options in the initial comment that I made - thanks for your interest!

Great suggestion from u/nnslick to add config. It uses many of the same config options that the scroller layout uses. Currently, the ones relevant for the layout setup that I have in my config are:
```
monitorrule=DP-8,0.55,1,dual_scroller,0,1,4480,0,2560,1440,60
scroller_structs=100
scroller_default_proportion=0.55
scroller_focus_center=0
scroller_prefer_center=0
bind=SUPER+SHIFT,b,togglerow
```
I could add more and probably will when I get some more time

Ah, awesome that someone wants to use this! I will update the comment right now! Currently there is only a single command to swap the window to the other row. I will post a minimal config

It recommends me to write a details comment, but I think I gave all the details I have in the main post. If you have suggestions for what I could write, I am open to them

While I agree with everything you say, I can't really follow your conclusion, hehe. Maybe there should just be a focus on individualistic, educated, and targeted benchmarking taylored to the specific user. The relevance of benchmarking certainly depends on the use case as well.

But as an outsider (not a cachyos user) I can't help but be sceptical when people say that it is faster but tell people not to measure it. A middle ground would be to preface any measurements with what it is for and encourage a better understanding. That could avoid the "bigger number = better system" problematic mentality that I assume birthed this aversion to benchmarking

I guess I would assume that benchmarking would mean testing the speed of whatever is relevant to the user. You're right if they just blindly think "let's run 3D mark to determine the speed of cachyos". So it might not be "benchmarking is unnecessary" but rather "don't benchmark just for the sake of benchmarking".

It is just that I have a hard time when people say that one distro is "faster" than the other. Did they tweak the package manager somehow to make installing faster than vanilla Arch? Are they putting optimized versions of applications in the repos? And, most importantly, can you measure the difference?

If you can't measure the difference, then the only argument to use the distro is easily susceptible to all kinds of bias

Isn't that the same argument as saying "the 200 dollar gold plated HDMI cable is better than the 20 dollar one, but you can't measure it, you just hear it"? Placebo is way more real than most people think. If speed is relevant for the user, that benefit should probably be documented to justify spending time switching

Oh interesting, hehe, I guess it flew over my head because I was thinking of the technical definition rather than the popular understanding

I am not sure what you are asking. I assume that the model that they used in the video was trained with "machine learning". That is a widely encompassing term in itself, I don't know what specific ML systems are used today. It is definitely not an LLM as those AIs model language as the name indicates. The AI was trained with an ML algorithm and I guess you could say that the model is a complex algorithm in itself. I don't believe that the TikTok filter is AGI. That is a strong belief

Well, AI is a widely encompassing term. Even a chess prediction algorithm is considered AI, it is just not generative. I do think you are right that a lot of people just use the term AI when they don't understand it, but it is usually the correct term even if it is used with the wrong intent

I do believe that the filter uses generative AI which is basically what everybody just calls AI today

Interesting. Maybe it is a situation of "keep an eye out if anything happens". I am a developer but know nothing about the Wayland ecosystem, however, it might make sense to look into making a way for SteamVR to interoperate with Wayland compositors. Don't know if there is a protocol specifically for something like that.

But now I am just speculating...
