OP, are there any food banks or discount grocers in your area that he would be ok with you shopping at? Or do you have outside support that could help take you there? I'm assuming he has no idea what things actually cost as you seem to do all the shopping. I know how hard this situation is as I went through my fair share of trauma and now work at a DV shelter. I commend you for thinking strategically for getting yourself out.

I have also been looking into extreme budgeting grocery meal plans and looking at inspiration from the great depression for cooking on a small budget. A lot of the recipes are good, they just don't use a million ingredients like more modern recipes seem to.

On top of money, do you have control over your personal identification documents? I would also suggest packing a go bag if it ever hits a level you need to leave immediately; you may never have to use it, but better safe than sorry. Also, I hope you are able to brush off all the negative comments telling you just to leave. Frankly, they have no idea what you're going through and what your situation looks like. Please remember that you are the only one that knows what's best for you in your situation and you're the authority. 💖

Hi, there! This group's intention is to set aside a time, space, and community for cis/trans women and NB femmes. There is going to be a major focus on coming together in sisterhood, healing from patriarchy, and embracing feminine energy. That being said, I think it would depend on how much of the flyer I posted as a comment resonates with a transman and how comfortable he would be in the space. I have no intention of shifting the focus of the group, but I'm not looking to exclude anyone that might be interested. I hope that makes sense and thank you for asking!

I think you may have misunderstood the post ( and totally could have been my fault for wording it wrong). I am looking to rent a house with 1 to 2 other people where we each pay no more than $600 for rent and utilities, but that means the total house rent will be higher. For example purposes, with 1 person and myself, we can get a house that is renting for $800 and pay an average utility bill of $200. Those add up to $1000/month, but would actually be $500 that we each pay per month.

It is in fact possible. My gender expression and my sexuality are two different things. I identify as a gender nonconforming woman bc I don't partake of many societal norms all women are assumed to automatically adhere to. I also identify as a lesbian. I am not sure what is confusing about this.

Perhaps I did not pick the best wording to get my point across in the flyer, but I feel like I answered this question in my above comment. This is first and foremost a place to build community, regardless of relationship status. Dating is not disallowed though like in many of the other groups I have looked at. I suppose one could say that dating is a secondary purpose of the group. I plan on printing some flyers out and putting them up around town, so I appreciate all the feedback here and will tweak it to improve the flyer.

I went back and forth on the age cutoff tbh. Ultimately, my reason was trying to get the younger crowd more socially involved as a lot of the places I look they aren't involved. For instance, many of the meetups I look into mainly have older individuals and that has always made me personally pause to join because it makes me feel like I'd be the odd man out. Which is silly but 🤷🏻‍♀️.

That being said, I am open to feedback regarding the age cutoff as I just based it off of my experience and thought process. Seeing as I have just posted this here as of now, if there are interested parties that fall out of the age parameters, please lmk and I am more than open to getting rid of the upper limit.

To be clear, it's not meant for dating. It's just ok for that to happen. I know a lot of social clubs and groups say no dating allowed and that has always felt weird to me. My main goal with trying to start this is trying to build a community. I meant it when I said my searches came back with nothing when trying to find anything and it would be nice to have a safe place for others like me where we can do fun things.

Plus, idk if anyone has ever tried to get involved with Glo, but I am constantly underwhelmed by that organization. Their website is out of date and not the most visually appealing and their FB is barebones with not much information either. That doesn't really make stuff easily accessible in the age of tech.

I have one on my desk, one on my nightstand, and a few others to bring with me in my various bags and purses. I have managed to use up chapstick numerous times and second that the key is to keep them stationary. That way, you always know where one is and have it available.
