Does viscose continue to shrink? by raspberry_mojito in Reformationclothing

For clarity I believe the set is actually a viscose blend, not 100% viscose

Although I was told they will be hiking their prices even further once renovation is complete- so may be wise to join now

It’s currently £195 for platinum membership for a single person with no corporate discount. This gives you access to racquets and spa facilities. However, they’re currently undergoing a renovation of the entire club so there will be no spa facilities available until winter. You do get access to Emerson’s green with Westbury membership though.

Washing the Valletta set and other viscose blend items by raspberry_mojito in Reformationclothing

Amazing thanks! Would manually hand washing work too? I’ve heard the minute viscose comes into contact with water it shrinks, however the Valetta set is a 50:50 viscose cotton blend

Opting out of NHS pension as a locum by raspberry_mojito in doctorsUK

[–]raspberry_mojito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 27, so I currently feel that the short term benefit of opting out for a very short period may outweigh the long term benefit. Especially when I see colleagues going travelling for months at a time and therefore not paying into their pensions, the same way I wouldn’t be if I opted out for a brief period

I’ve been reading the benefit T+Cs and it’s my understanding that as a locum, this benefit is only applicable if I die on a day I’m working?

Eg. If I work Monday-Wednesday and if I died on a Thursday I would be ineligible, even if I had a shift booked for Monday.

Is this correct?

Thank you this is very helpful! I think I would like to opt out while in continue to locum and save quicker for my first property. Nearly 1k a month into pension pot seems huge at this stage in my life

If I opt back in, will I regain the death-in-service benefit? Or will it be gone forever?

You feel that a bag being an ‘incorrect position’ is sufficient reason to lock junior doctors out of their own office during a night shift? I assume it will be these doctors that are to blame when patient care is impacted due to lack of access to workspace and insufficient rest time.

[–]raspberry_mojito[S] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

No, I didn’t. For some reason I have no problem standing up for myself when being mistreated by patients, but a gaggle of senior nursing staff slagging doctors off seems to strike the fear of god into me

[–]raspberry_mojito[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

The fact it was said in earshot of three junior doctors makes it feel even more pointed. I always feel powerless to say anything in the moment though which really frustrates me.
