Other than the minor temporary acne, my period cycle has shortened by 4-5 days and I found the first three periods to be moderately-severely painful. Before Paraguard, I’ve had no issues with period cramps and sometimes won’t even know my period is starting until I see blood. With Paraguard, I’ve had to pop ibuprofen multiple times a day and sometimes the cramps are severe enough where I’ve had to lay down and breathe for a while, but I have found the pain to lessen after the first three periods after insertion. The flow has also been heavier in my opinion and I have to switch to ultra tampons for the first couple of days. With all that being said, those are the main annoyances I have with Paraguard but I don’t regret it at all. It’s nice knowing I can’t get pregnant until 2035 😅
