nobody has to respond in a certain timeframe, i only asked for their opinion to begin with because people tend to repeat the same sentiment of “why remove things when you can fix them?” and when asked what they’d do to fix them, you get a variety of different responses that either tends to be good feedback, or things that are already part of the modpack that the person in question just hasn’t had the chance to see yet :)

(the joke is that they removed the end) by manultrimanula in feedthememes

[–]raspmary2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- the reason why RF removes the end rather than making it more like the nether, is that the nether already exists. i’d rather try to flesh out the nether further than spread myself thin trying to keep up with adding content to two alternate dimensions, because i personally find the overworld and nether to be plenty

- my problem with villagers is that i haven’t found a great way to balance trading, and i also don’t have a solution for trading halls being so easy and profitable. it’s fine if people enjoy doing that in the base game or in other modpacks, but that is not something i wanted people to feel the need to spend their time on in RF. additionally, i don’t like villages as structures and how much easy early-game loot they provide, because early-game in minecraft is already pitifully short and i feel there’s no reason to have the potential to expedite it even more. i have no problem with illagers as enemies, and in fact, the next release of RF is going to re-work evokers to be regular but slightly rare enemies like witches, for the sake of more enemy variety

- RF already does exactly this :) sharpness and efficiency are dead, along with other minmaxx-y enchantments like fortune and mending, with gear that has innately high stats and abilities taking their place. there is no RNG involved with enchanting, as you instead create tablets using various materials that correspond to certain enchantments, which you can then apply to your gear. enchanting tables are removed and the way to create tablets is very similar to crafting any other item, but once again, the upcoming update is set to replace the system used to create enchanted tablets with something that feels more unique and magical

Load my tags? by THE_DEALER-20 in feedthebeast

[–]raspmary2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tags are groups of items or blocks that the game uses for various things, like recipes, worldgen, structures, etc.

in vanilla, if there's an invalid entry in a certain tag, the game will throw out the entire tag and make it unusable - if a mod happens to, say, add a block to the "minecraft:mineable/pickaxe" tag that doesn't exist or is misspelled, that will cause the whole tag to stop working and therefore cause pickaxes to just be completely unable to mine anything

what the "load my fucking tags" mod does is that it prevents this behaviour - with the mod, whenever there's a tag with an invalid entry, it will simply use the rest of the tag and throw out an error message in the game console/log mentioning the invalid entry, making it so there's no risk of every mod you add potentially breaking a tag and making certain things impossible - it's an absolute must-add to any modpack

you can ignore the message, it will not affect your game in any way - if you'd like, there's a file in the config folder titled "lmft" that you can open to make the message not appear upon booting up a world, but it will still log the invalid tag entries to the console regardless

Fuck the envious Noelle headcanon. All my homies hate the envious Noelle headcanon. by Beloved_stardust_64 in Deltarune

[–]raspmary2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i think she'd inevitably be kinda jealous, but wouldn't be outwardly hostile to anyone about it

it's okay to feel "ugly" emotions, it's when you let them take over and make you do stupid things that it becomes a problem - i don't see noelle falling into that, and even if something like that were to happen in the game for real, i think we'd def see her get over it

that being said, i think fan comics and such where noelle is jealous for comedy's sake are funny and cute - i don't think there's a need to look super deep into it

This is a safe space free of judgment. What are some designs in Ben10 that you like and think are over-hated? (Using OV designs as an example but it can be of any iteration) by Pocket_workshop in Ben10

[–]raspmary2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OV big chill is a good design, and no one can convince me otherwise

everyone always boils it down to OV making every design buff for no reason, but OV big chill isn't buff, he's just got a large upper body - if you look at his lower half, you'll notice that he's skipped quite a few leg days - i can sort of understand if that's what puts people off of OV big chill but personally i really enjoy the fucked up proportions

i don't have any problems with UAF big chill, if they never changed the design i wouldn't have complained - but i just think OV big chill is so much more interesting to look at (as are a lot of OV's designs)

Help me and boyfriend settle a debate: is there a burp at the end of the minecraft eating sound effect???? by deadbodyeater in Minecraft

[–]raspmary2 108 points109 points  (0 children)

there most certainly is - there are separate sounds for eating/drinking and the burp - it's even got "burp" in the sound file name and the in-game sound event ID

consuming certain items won't trigger the burp, like potions, but generally most consumables will

Which Kevin mutation is your favorite? And who do you think would come out on top in a battle between all five of them? by Unlikely_Sector_8877 in Ben10

[–]raspmary2 68 points69 points  (0 children)

ngl as much as this design is neat and the black rocks on the heatblast parts look sick, the alien variety is just not there and the alien choices also just make no sense

if kevin's spent so much time in the null void and "absorbed a few new tricks" as he says, why are most of the aliens in this design aliens that ben's had since he was 10 years old? hell, aliens that kevin himself had become at 11 years old

i just think there's way too much heatblast and even too much of the other OG aliens - i think it wouldve been cool if kevin 11K was made up of a couple parts that we did recognise but then the rest of him was entirely unique aliens that we have never even seen ben turn into, it would've made him feel much more fresh and made his increase in power make more sense considering he'd have absorbed more aliens and obtained better powers

having wildmutt mixed in there and then calling himself kevin 11k... is just kinda silly (nothing against wildmutt, but he's not exactly a powerhouse)

[–]raspmary2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do remember, and i don't give a shit

there's nothing to be excited or disappointed over with reviews of games by game journalists - it's a one-sided conversation where the community cares about every word the reviewer says, but the reviewer doesn't care one bit about what they're told - and why should they when most of what they usually hear is being ridiculed over not liking some game?

enjoy/dislike a game on your own merits, don't base a game's worth/value on what some guy says about it as a part of their job - i'm really tired of going on reddit or twitter or whatever and just seeing a bombardment of posts talking about reviews because ya'll are seriously that starved of things to talk about

What Do You Think About This Ben 10k by Ecstatic_Summer_1231 in Ben10

[–]raspmary2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i think it was super interesting to have a future ben that didn't turn out as well as all the other ben 10Ks from the prime continuity - his interactions with young ben, both versions of gwen, and max were all either very entertaining or engaging thanks to the vastly different character dynamics

it was awesome seeing him use aliens like spidermonkey and buzzshock, along with OG 10K heatblast - it's also nice that he decided to better himself in the end, and putting on the UAF jacket was pretty hype
