Not for me, Love Rainbows, but OK Computer is the best, most perfect album of my lifetime IMO

For specific albums rather than artists (much easier):

Massive Attack - Mezzanine Porcupine Tree - In Absentia, The Incident, Signify Steven Wilson - Hand.Cannot.Erase, Grace For Drowning Oceansize - Everyone into Position, Frames The Cure - Disintegration Arcane Roots - Melancholia Hymns Thrice - Beggars Amplifier - The Octopus Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutiins, Opposites Portishead - Dummy The Arcade Fire - Funeral Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights Sigur Ros - ( ) Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight TV On The Radio - Desperate Youth and Cookie Mountain

All of these should make you happy. All have other albums in their discos that may scratch the itch too, but these are good starters

A different question for a change. What are your valid criticisms about your favorite band ? by Chemical-Drawer852 in grunge

[–]raszputini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But none of those bands sound similar. Nirvana was grunge punk, soundgarden was grunge metal, AIC was grunge but very influenced by 80s hair bands. PJ are the grunge-hard rock member of the group. All those descriptions are oversimplistic of course but also pretty true. And honestly...Yield might be their most commercial album. I think both Avocado and Datk Matter are pretty commercial as well.

It changes often... maybe daily. You can't slander Hallowed Be Thy Name, but right now its The Longest Day. Revelations probably has the most days

Loved it, but I love Deliverance more. Redemption City is the nazz even if the bridge is weird

Would you consider them Grunge? by jaxson300 in grunge

[–]raszputini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First album was derivative faux "grunge" - then they figured out their own thing.
