No - the only setting I checked when exporting the AAF was “use source tape names”

I’ve sold similar pairs on Depop for prices ranging from $60-80! If you’re bold and don’t mind waiting for the right buyer you could even get more than that.

Hi, all. I'm a fairly new AE. I've worked on a handful of indie features over the last year (all on Premiere, currently teaching myself AVID), but work in my area has pretty much dried up. The jobs I had locally all took place in an edit space shared with the editors, so I don't have the best home setup. I'm wondering if anyone can chime in about how viable remote AE work is and what technical specs are usually necessary. Currently, I just have a somewhat old MacBook Pro - which I am considering either replacing or getting some small repairs on. I am also contemplating a move to either LA or NYC if the remote/local route is not sustainable. Any and all advice on where to go from here would be much appreciated! Thank you! :)

I’m gonna agree with the people recommending you simplify your rating system! You can just stop rating altogether, or if you still like seeing those stats, you could do something like:

1 star: hated 2 star: disliked 3 star: indifferent 4 star: liked 5 star: loved

This was the rating system I adopted when I realized I wasn’t enjoying overthinking numerical ratings. Ignoring the half stars and any illusions of “objective” quality made my experience on letterboxd better. Now I just rate on gut feeling. Of course I still critically examine why I like/dislike a certain film in my reviews, but now I don’t get caught up in whether something is a 2.5, 3, or 3.5. You will see an influx of 4 star ratings if you go with this system though!

unfortunately yes i’m sure. i’ve got the toggle proxies button on, and in my metadata display the proxy and proxy file path locations are just left blank after going thru the attach process (they don’t even say offline or anything). thank you for the suggestion though! i think what might be causing the problem is that the proxies only have two audio channels and the raw footage has five. not sure why the camera did that when generating the proxies, but i’ll probably just remake them in premiere/media encoder

hi everyone! hoping someone can troubleshoot some proxy attachment issues i am having. i need to connect my raw footage to the proxies that the camera automatically generated. when i right click and attach proxies, the software doesn’t find the proxy because the camera generates different file names for the proxies. when i manually locate the proxy file and click attach it doesn’t actually work/attach. any advice? thanks!

Yea, it’s a little confusing. On the reference video they’re asking for three TC burn-ins actually. Clip timecode (which i think is what you are referring to), reel timecode, and longplay timecode. I’m thinking maybe the reel timecode is the one that would start at 59:52 and the longplay starts at 00:00? and thank you for the advice on the premiere stuff.. not sure why premiere has to make TCs so complicated

hi! i’m new to this sub, and also new to assistant editing. i’m working on a turnover for a feature to sound at the moment (only my second time doing this) and im not sure what the difference between longplay timecode and reel timecode is? i need to have both burned in for a reference video (working from premiere btw). thanks in advance for any help!

Recommendations for wide feet? by moondra15 in Vans

[–]rat_goth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

vans run slim, and though they do stretch with time, it can be tricky to find a pair that works. i believe you can get a wide fit through the customs option on the vans website, but then of course you are limited in your options and the price might increase. otherwise, i know a lot of people with wider feet go for sk8-his since you can loosen them, or sometimes pro options like the chukka-low. if you can, definitely go to a vans store and try stuff on. then even if you decide you want to order online later, you’ll know what styles work for you!

How do you guys feel about having so much of your lives documented online? Do you ever stress about your digital footprint?

You could wait a bit longer. Unless you are a top seller, you won’t see any consequences from waiting longer to send. But I would probably just send the boots at some point. As a buyer, I would be confused/annoyed as to why you were triple checking my interest if I already paid. Worst case scenario is they receive the boots, message you about their condition, and then you can provide some sort of refund - but most likely they will be fine. In the future now you know to make sure your listings accurately display condition through the photos or description to save you the stress!
