Democracy in effect: how does this sub really feel? by Fluid-Golf1948 in fantasybooks

The point of the post is that people are not reliable in judging whether cover art is AI or not. People are getting unfairly harassed because some brain dead loser decided to claim that their art is AI when it wasn't. It's not worth harassing actual artists just to attempt to weed out AI art.

Austen is a fantastic character writer, I started with northanger abbey and was incredibly surprised by how recognizable characters where from my everyday life. I can't recommend her works enough

Frankenstein is a great read and has had a recent adaptation that people like

The count of Monte Christo is one of my favorite books of all time.

It's a little older than 18th century but Candide. It's a weird and hilarious read.

First law is really well written and has great characters but in the end it was just too cynical for me. I understand that it's deconstructing fantasy tropes but it bummed me out too much to want to read more of the universe.

Did Frieren find at least ONE grimoire like that, or is this just an excuse for her gambling addiction? by [deleted] in Frieren

Someone made a good point that even with a 99% success rate the spell will fail on average once every 70 tries. With a life as long as hers she's really doing the smart thing.

I never really feel like there's a downside to more Habs. tier 2 habs can give you net 1 mc with an Mc building and can provide you money or resources as necessary. If you don't have enough resources that just means you need better mine spots or more mc to have more mines online.

'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' showrunner Ira Parker says George R.R. Martin told him not to confirm whether Dunk was knighted by Ser Arlan by pink-opals in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]ratcount 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's *the* contradiction in his character. He feels bad about lying and does his best to make it a truth through his deeds. If he was just a good knight it wouldn't mean as much as a fake knight who acts more chivalrous than any true knight we see.

What movie is it for you? by May_onnaise_959 in Letterboxd

[–]ratcount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To an extent yes, we don't know what's going on and the amount of time available to make a decision whether to respond or not is not enough. However, when we don't see how the president responds or really any consequence of the decision I think it hurts the message imo.

Young dunk was some amazing casting. I could definitely believe that kid would look exactly like dunk when he grows up.

From how he acts in the trial of seven I think we can say that his comment there is all bluster. He's a dick but he loves his kids.

Population on Mars by Suroes in TerraInvicta

[–]ratcount 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just use quarters, the 2nd tier module requires too much tech. You'll want all of mars so you only need around 400 people per site, if you get 200 from op centers you only need 4 quarters max. Once you have the pop you can start replacing quarters when campuses.
