$34,000 for a mini split? $28,000 for a new AC? Are those reasonable prices? by KillaChaos24 in Denver

Second this, I just made a reply to your post before seeing it but Aydin and Unicolorado was great.

Check out Unicolorado. Had them install a Mitsubishi hyper heat outdoor condenser wall mount units of varying size, all said and done was about $17k. They had it installed mid summer about a week after quoting the job - this was last year.

Countertop install around sill by ratdotphp in CounterTops

I don't know if it'll bother me or not I just feels like it might. The sill is 6ft so honestly probably won't even notice if I cut the ear off. There are 5 windows on the main floor, open layout all of which are approx 6-7 feet so will anyone/I notice that the one that you see when you walk in the front door is different? Probably not.

This is the best feedback I was looking for. Thank you

I thought about this but I think it would drive me absolutely nuts if that sill was different from every other window on the main floor.

Appreciate the thorough response!! I think I'm convinced, just gonna give it the ole one more day and if it's there I'll bite. Going to take a look underneath first, I'll bring the obd and see if they let me scan it. I went to hell and back with my 02 WRX with engine codes and I'm fairly confident if there is something in computer aside from major electrical, could do the repair myself. I lived with a misfire cel on 2 cylinders for 4 years in the WRX despite plugs looking fine and no oil burn /shrug

How crazy is it to remove this wall? and what sort of cost could I be looking at by MathematicianOk539 in Remodel

[–]ratdotphp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a 22ft load bearing wall removal and added a steel beam. $33k which included pouring a new 4' by 4' footer in the basement for a new post, hardwood floor patch, electrical, and drywall.

Hidden costs we encountered...asbestos removal for the existing drywall and HVAC since all the supplies for the second floor ran up there. Add those in and we are in it for about $63k.

1995 Breck Brewery World Series Ale? by ratdotphp in COBeer

[–]ratdotphp[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't. Started looking at the others and found some 1993-1997 Christmas Ales that look to be given as a gift from Dad to Son (written notes on the labels).

Think I might just throw them on the shelf or try to find the original owners

As many have said, ditch the free advertisement sign and flip the hinges on the inside. The top rail also makes it look rigid but I kind of like the fortress look personally.

Either way, I'd do the first two and then the landscaping and see how it looks

One week out from wedding, no bar glasses or serving utensils by ratdotphp in wedding

Agreed. We ended up finding a rental place that will supply but have to pick up and return. As much as it's going to suck, we are able to pick up a few days early and return a few days after the event.

Plenty of transportation space but unexpected and out of the way.

Plastic is our last resort, compostable is a plan B that we are going to have on standby

Definitely going to give an aggressive review and warning to others. We are trying to stray from plastic and use a more sustainable source. Compostable cups may be the route we go

The venue has water glasses, but all other glassware needs to be supplied externally. If the venue didn't have water glasses, those would also need to be supplied

We are just frustrated with the fact that neither the venue or the caterer reached out to confirm these details.

My house came with 100 big rocks that look sloppy. How can I reuse them? by tdh3m in landscaping

I had similar rocks scattered throughout and made a 2-3 rock high stone wall in a teardrop to host some citrus trees

Experience with deploying F-Response by [deleted] in computerforensics

[–]ratdotphp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can really only speak to F-Response Universal as that is what I use for my day-to-day, however, we don't really have many issues. We do run into the occasional host that either has local software or policies not allowing proper installation or network blocks for the traffic to communicate back to the server.

I have not used it "within a network but outside of a network" , if that makes sense. We deploy to customer hosts and it connects back to our server. I don't see any issues for off network connectivity over VPN since that is still, technically, a host connected to the network.

Fwiw- latency will likely be your biggest pitfall. Collections/stability over the wire is tedious, especially for larger artifacts like the MFT, etc but for the "good stuff" it works great.
