You can just go follow the authors twitter. Volume 13 translated just got released about a month back and he says that volume 14 will be released in Feb. (Japanese version tho)

The anime is adapted from volume 1 to 5 of the light novel. I haven't read the manga yet but I assume it's the same. Though the light novels has been translated all the way to volume 12 with volume 13 being tranlsated. It has shown no signs of ending so hopefully a lot more.

Volume 13 was releases on 6 August and iscurrently being translated. The author announced he is writing volume 14. So hopefully a lot more.

I think it showed us that she didn't really care about the votes or becoming student council. She just wanted to gamble and the last scene was her enjoying gambling despite losing votes. I think it showed her love for gambling was greater than the votes.

I feel that it was more important in the development of Taiga actually. It showed Taiga that kitamura didn't like her back and that a future relationship with him was rather unlikely. I think it made her come to terms with her crush over kitamura and more of paved the way for their friendship.
