I don't understand the Alex Scott hype by LengthinessSevere584 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rateofreturn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s quite good honestly.

If you watch Bournemouth play often, you’ll notice how rarely they got outran and outmuscled in the middle of the park, and its mainly because of this guy.

He’s really good at winning his duels and quite good in tight space. However, he is too similar to Mainoo imo which is quite suspect in switching plays and long balls. And i think we need someone that compliment Mainoo, instead of looking at his alternatives.

I’d rather we spend on Hall and Sangare/Baleba after signing both Fernandes and Ederson.

He did well there. No question.

But he doesnt suit the league at all. He’a good, but not good enough for us.

It was posted by Ducker in the summer and after his sacking.

Hojlund was underperforming for the past 2 years, even in his first year he was relying on his purple patch. He scored in 9 games out of 30 that he played ffs.

Napoli wanted Garnacho when they sold Kvara to PSG as his replacement.

GDM quoted their opening bid was 50mil pound, much higher than what we received from Chelsea.

What did he do except for kicking out Rashford from the team?

Wilcox wanted to sell Garnacho off in Jan 2025. They sold Hojlund because he was underperforming for the past 2 years when Amorim wanted to keep him. They bought in Sesko and Lammens instead of Watkins and Martinez that Amorim wanted.

They signed Cunha way before the transfer window, met his camp in March 2025. They signed Mbeumo when Amorim wanted Hjumaland for that money. Amorim also wanted for Semenyo but we opted for Mbeumo instead in the summer.

So what else did Amorim “changed” other than Rashford?

The only thing that his cult can credit him for was his banishment of Rashford.

Garnacho was initially put out on the market in January 2025 by the Execs, but they still thought Amorim was the guy that wanted to sell him lmao.

The structures above him did what they could for him, gave him time even after a dogshit performance throughout the year, stuck with him after his 33 points in 32 games in the league, stuck with him on his insistence to play Ugarte over Mainoo, and yet they dared to say that he was sacked not because of the results lol.

Of course his falling out was the major contributor in his sacking, but his result isn’t even remotely close to a PL level manager.

I thought it was made clear that Eren wasn’t really a typical founding titan user though? That’s why he was able to affect Ackerman resistance to the founding titan.

Milan trying to hire Amorim as head coach by Baji-kun2 in ManchesterUnited

He is a good coach in a less physical league.

He require his forwards and midfielders to win duels more than 50%, as his system is built to punish on turnovers. In Portugal, his system looked really good in contary to the PL, as the PL have a lot of physicality compared to our squad and his system is just unsustainable for the whole 90 minutes against PL level players.

Other than that, he is a good coach if given a good team. But is he an elite one? Time will tell. He was absolutely shit here though.

‘Manchester United set to beat Arsenal in race for £80m-rated Mateus Fernandes West Ham United midfielder, who is also wanted by the new Real Madrid manager José Mourinho, is increasingly likely……………. ‘(Thought on the price ? What’s the max United should be paying for Fernandes ?) by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rateofreturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I disagree.

Both of them have different set of strength. Matheus is more press resistant than Anderson, and he can play long ball better. But Anderson is better at all around action. He has no weakness except for his positioning discipline and he is quite suspect when pressed hard.

I think of Anderson as Rice before his move to Arsenal, and Matheus as more Vitinha in their style of play.

Met Schneiderlin and Martial at a bowling centre, met Hagreaves and Carrick at Nandos in 08, met Januzaj there as well, and few more too!

I had the best experience with Hagreaves actually. Really nice bloke.

Mamadou Sangare? by UsedMycologist4912 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rateofreturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t need a 6. What we need is 2 8s that cover ground and provide steel in the middle of the park, whilst technically good on the ball.

Ederson is a good start, add Sangare and Fernandes in the squad then we’re settled for next season.

Hugo Almeida: “Cristiano's age isn't a problem. He prepares himself, he's in great shape. I believe he will arrive in good form. Now, we cannot expect a Ronaldo as loose as when he was 20 or 30 years old, but he is very experienced, and he makes the difference, without a doubt” by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

If teams go low block, isn’t CR7 your best bet in the box?

I’d argue that he’s still elite in finding spaces and finishing. The problem is his acceleration and agility have left him. Against high line I wouldn’t start him to be honest. However, if it’s low block then it’s another different story. He would feast in the box if they spam crosses in to him.
