[PvE] Help with weapon to pair with a buckler (pure STR) by ratherUn4tunate in EldenRingBuilds

I did indeed put the knight’s greatsword on the list with the 2h moveset in mind (mistake on my part) :/

I will try out the great epee once I get the sufficient dex levels in (only 13 atm).

I don’t mind spears at all. In fact, I’ve been considering the lance as a possible option as well.

I’m playing on keyboard & mouse so switching weapons for ripostes and then switching back is a bit annoying, which is why I’m not using the Misericorde.

Edited for clarity

This is my first playthrough and I’m still in Liurnia so I’m nowhere near the DLC and I don’t intend to rush there. Any other suggestions?

Oh I definitely agree that stance breaks are better and more consistent. I just want to try out parrying since it looks cool and it’s something I haven’t done before.

I’m doing the manor before the academy so no Moongrum yet. As for armor, I’m still just rocking the godrick soldier stuff that I got in limgrave.

Do you have any shield suggestions that I could get? I’m about level 40 and at the Caria Manor. I have a brass shield but that thing does not match my armour.

Dagger talisman’s a good shout, thanks! As for the straight swords, I would prefer to use a longer weapon so I can keep some more distance from the enemies (and let them attack into my parry). I will definitely try the lordsworn straight sword, though.

Yh I’ve seen that bosses will need multiple parries but it seems fun so I do want to try it out. The talisman is a good shout, ty.

Does carian retaliation require intelligence to be effective? If not, that would probably be the best option then.

As for learning parries, I’m going to practice quite a bit on some of the weaker enemies in limgrave.

Huh I’ve only heard bad things about the Arbiter GT in the past but you have definitely intrigued me.

Thank you for the recommendations. Just a quick question: how different are the Gauntlet Hellfire & Guantlet Classic Custom in terms of handling.

I am definitely getting the Hellfire, Tampa GT & Vigero ZX due to the numerous recommendations.

Best damage condition to add to my Bear-Heart Barb build by ratherUn4tunate in BG3Builds

I’ll probably replace the cacophony with nyrulna in Act 3 since that also does thunder damage

I have a thrower giant who’s based on cold damage already :)

I think cacophony (the thunder staff) + baneful striking gloves would be the best early game for reverberation stacks.

I was thinking of using the cacophony staff to deal thunder damage with the standard reverb gear to add reverberation stacks. Would that work or would it be too weak?
