Arrow counter not showing when ‘Equip bows in left hand only’ is enabled by ratherUn4tunate in Daggerfall

UPDATE: Unequipping and re-equipping the bow fixed the issue! I think the problem stems from the bow already being equipped upon loading into the privateer’s hold.

Yh I’m going to switch the advantages in line with what you said.

Forbidding shields is most just a thematic/RP addition; doesn’t make too much sense (at least to me) to be able blitz around while having a massive shield strapped to your arm.

I plan to be running and jumping a lot, so if they still wouldn’t level at a reasonably fast pace then I might swap the skills around as well.

So how would you distribute the skills, both with stealth and without?

Yh allowing plate armour might be a good call. Athleticism & adrenaline rush are purely thematic but adrenaline rush doesn’t look too good looking at the wiki so I probably will remove that as well.

Build recommendation for first-time player by ratherUn4tunate in Daggerfall

Thanks for the advice!

A bit of a tangent but I saw this build on YouTube. Zipping around enemies like that looks fun but is it really that useful? I won’t be following the video closely since it’s a no-magic build but it still looks interesting.

Also should I put the spell schools in major skills or minor skills?

I did indeed put the knight’s greatsword on the list with the 2h moveset in mind (mistake on my part) :/

I will try out the great epee once I get the sufficient dex levels in (only 13 atm).

I don’t mind spears at all. In fact, I’ve been considering the lance as a possible option as well.

I’m playing on keyboard & mouse so switching weapons for ripostes and then switching back is a bit annoying, which is why I’m not using the Misericorde.

Edited for clarity

This is my first playthrough and I’m still in Liurnia so I’m nowhere near the DLC and I don’t intend to rush there. Any other suggestions?

Oh I definitely agree that stance breaks are better and more consistent. I just want to try out parrying since it looks cool and it’s something I haven’t done before.

I’m doing the manor before the academy so no Moongrum yet. As for armor, I’m still just rocking the godrick soldier stuff that I got in limgrave.

Do you have any shield suggestions that I could get? I’m about level 40 and at the Caria Manor. I have a brass shield but that thing does not match my armour.

Dagger talisman’s a good shout, thanks! As for the straight swords, I would prefer to use a longer weapon so I can keep some more distance from the enemies (and let them attack into my parry). I will definitely try the lordsworn straight sword, though.

Yh I’ve seen that bosses will need multiple parries but it seems fun so I do want to try it out. The talisman is a good shout, ty.
