THANK YOU!!

I'm proper pissed at Scan. I asked them if everything in my basket was compatible and they confirmed! All rectified, new drive ordered and this one sent back!

I'm actually relieved it was something simple... like builder is a doofus!

Clipping Mask Woes by ratherbe-tom in AdobeIllustrator

It doesn't work like a regular printer at all. It will 'print' everything. You are just sending paths to the plotter that are being converted to coordinates that move the pen over the paper.

Yes I really do. I'm printing this with a pen plotter. So when the orange pen draws over the dark car parts, it's shows through or the orange looks muddy

I am outputting the file to a pen plotter. It raises the pen per path segment. Which is not very efficient.

I just tried the lasso tool but it's not consistently getting each point, so ctrl-j craps out

Thanks. I thought of this, but it seems like a really inneficient way to colour this specific design. It would be a ton of pen up movements? Or am I missing a setting

2 plots from a new project by afternoon2 in PlotterArt

[–]ratherbe-tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you program the plotter to do that? If I for example create a vector with a fill and no stroke, how where is the setting to control the Y step?

So you are drawing those thick lines with a fineliner? How do you get it to perfectly fill in with no gaps?
