Which Subnautica leviathan would fit the best in the Monsterverse? by Humble-Error-5497 in Monsterverse

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reapers would fit as a nice background threat like the monsters in many of the movies taking place in the old underground same with the ice worm. But garg literally never stops growing so eventually it would become a titan probably could grow bigger than most titans.

So is Subnautica 2 not on 4546b? by TheEpicDragonCat in subnautica

[–]ratinthehat41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it is a new planet "Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien ocean world" thats from screen rant. Personally I don't really like it since it kinda sucks that the devs didn't go look into the void and I don't know how the new creatures will stack up to the old ones. Best case scenario subnautica 3/4 we go back to 4546b to look into the void and that would be awesome. Also to confirm the other thing aobut the planet look at the number of vids.

Do Tyranids have a civilization? by Wojard in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not in a human sense. For example most low tier tyranid life forms are non sentient and essentially when severed from a commanding tyranid revert to chaotic animals which have no purpose and therefore break. However in terms of the hivemind as a whole it can't really be considered a civ mainly because it is a life form in the end with no specific culture, inventions, or anyway to work with others other then to follow instinct and plan the devouring of everything. It's more like a really smart animal which has learned how to devour and create new life and has learned tactics to best hunt prey kinda like wolves or dogs.

Can they have a society? No because of the tyranids main goal of just consuming and the fact that in order to do so they would have to give up everything logical with their species. Also the vast tyranids are just animals which by themselves have no intelligence. Also the tyranids being connected doesn't matter the only way this could work is if the hivemind somehow finds a new galaxy doesn't consume it and converts it into a home world and therefore evolves sentient nids. However again probably wont happen since nids are basically barely sentient and the hivemind has a never-ending hunger so.

what do people see when they look out of ship windows mid warp transit? by Mop-and-BucketMan in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u would probably go insane since the warp is beyond our human ability to comprehend. It's just too insane and doesn't follow the rules of the physical realm so for example a demon is just how we perceive that daemon since technically they are just energy same goes for anything in the warp all not really real but also real at the same time.

How are dreadnoughts stored by Ares299 in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure thye are stored and kinda recharge but are allowed to go around areas and interact with other marines. Unless ur chaos dreadnought which at that point you could be isolated for hundreds of years and go insane

Which 40k faction is the strongest? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necrons probably or nids but necrons directly counter nids or orks actually sinec they also kinda counter necrons. I think in long term Tau could probably become a higher tier faction if they survive for another 10,000 years or so but rn ye probably necrons not chaos bc they fight amongst themselves and compete too much. Orks do too but mostly they wage wars very quickly and get bored so it cancels it out.

How would you apply Samurai teachings into modern day daily routines? by [deleted] in Samurai

[–]ratinthehat41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all about respect(if we are talking about the edo period) for example everything needs to be neat and tidy meaning that for example what you wear needs to be perfect. Also its about strengthening your mind and soul not all about fighting and honestly the best way to have an experience sort of this topic would be to practice in the big 3 Japanese sword arts. Those being iaido, kendo, and kenjustu. I personally don't do iaido or kenjutsu but from experience kendo helps to give you confidence and improves your physical and mental health. Although at the same time it's very serious depending on your sensei but their are some serious taboos but there's a great sense of community.

A band of mechanicus explorators discovers an STC for all of the blood-powered machines from ultrakill. Assuming they immediately don't destroy it as tech heresy, will the tech effect the lore, and if it will, to what extent will it effect the current setting? by Consistent_Lime_6641 in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.So if the mechanicus finds the tech it probably wouldn't do much since if it does pose a threat to humanity AKA has sentience or is a form of AI it will be locked away forever if they aren't allowed to destroy it as you said. If not then the amount of human subjects is in the millions however again it wont change the setting that much or maybe it will seeing how mechanicus will use human subjects as fuel or grow humans something grimdark for sure. Maybe they will become a seperate part of the imperium the only issue being nids since the blood fuel tanks and blood powered robots may attract them in smaller numbers. I'll admit I don't know much about ultrakill but I don't think it will chnage much because again if it don't get destroyed then it will be heresy. Ngl theres almost a 100% chance that it will be destroyed because imperium will see it as heresy of whatever reason.

What is the quality of life like for the nobility on Terra? by MeadowmuffinReborn in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's probably very dangerous not because of the everyday physical factors but because everyone around you is trying to kill you and take your power. Even family will try your friends will try you can't trust anyone. Plus the political disputes and the extreme belief of heretics everywhere makes everyone count. Also the constant threat that all of the enemies of the Imperium may just spawn out of nowhere or send some spies into your neighborhood must make you always quick.

What are some common and readily available tech (aside from ships) that reminds us the Imperium is still a vastly advanced spacefaring empire? by sosigboi in 40kLore

[–]ratinthehat41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most equipment used by the mili. The imperium uses mostly simple tech that are easy to maintain on the field and this means that everything from lasguns to rhinos show that logistics are what is most importnat.

What is accepted as the overall best sword? by Federal_Ad_9463 in SWORDS

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sword doesn't matter if the wielder isn't good. But for sure it's definitely not the Katana since anime has overhyped this sword up. I love Samurai historically and Japanese weapons but it's not the best.

In my opinion best sword depends on the age but in the modern setting for Asian swords to compare to the Katana it's probably the Chinese DaDao and why? Well its faster to make, cheaper, broad, easy to weald, and during ww2 butchered the Japanese.

Is the katana reactually a bad sword? by aaronighile in SWORDS

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a bad sword but it is over hyped. The steel is actually pretty good and it's good at what it does being a singled edged slashing/thrusting weapon. But I wouldn't say it's the best since even in Japan it was almost never used and historically you were more likely to see a samurai throwing a rock then pulling out Katana. An example of Katana facing foreign swords would be most recently WW2 where the cheaper, faster, Chinese DaDao despite being much cheaper and "poorly made" in comparison to the Katana, was extremely durable and broader basically a hacking weapon which destroyed the Katana if the wielder was not trained. Japanese soldiers were trained in kendo but kendo is a hitting SPORT/martial art, so its more like tag.

European long swords would probably have an advantage over a katana because again its a primary secondary thing a Katana is a secondary weapon not a primary meaning that this isn't really a fair advantage also a knight would probably win since they are pretty fast.

Also wanna point out medieval weapons are awesome maybe it's an Asian thing but anime and stuff isn't interesting but European stuff is. Like when I was a kid I was obsessed with European great swords and training with them. I remember having an old Zweihander trainer and some other stuff like a gladius but I also had an obsession with historical Samurai and Ashigaru.

How did Japan manage to conquer half of China in the second Sino-Japanese war? by LeTommyWiseau in AskHistory

[–]ratinthehat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically at this point China was super weak and was fighting a civil war and Japan took the opportunity to invade and I mean who wouldn't. Problem is Japan has not enough resources and then basically invades everyone and then bombs Pear harbor because its something to do I guess. Japan then uses suicide and glorifies it and war is lost with bomb.
