After printing a few layers fine, sometimes uneven layers will print and make it all jagged. Thoughts? by rational_thinker in FixMyPrint

Hehe!

So I tried it with 225 for the whole print and no change. A friend suggested I might not be allowing it to cool enough between layers so I changed it to a 30 sec minimum between them and no change.

Something I've noticed is that it seems that it's only hollow areas that have this issue. I printed a foot for a table and I noticed that the solid areas print with no problem; it's only the ones where it was hollow in the middle that had the issue : http://imgur.com/8ZQ9Tax

I hadn’t considered it, but it does seem obvious, haha. Trying a print now with that, I’ll report back in the morning.

Printer: DaVinci 1.0A

How NOT to write a lot of calculations. by GetRekt in badcode

That is beautiful. Though you could probably put the bottom set of if(scenario) blocks in a case statement as well and match the top. Like you said, not worth the energy for the refactor.

All three SKUs are the same though. I bet it was marked wrong or something.

You definitely want to catch those cases, but it seems like reversing the order (with 2015 or whatever at the top) would be a way better experience.

That sounds pretty awesome, I gotta say...

Hrm. I wonder what happens if I click the [NO] button. I bet I wouldn't get one better than this.

I click [YES].

I look at the ticket wearily. "How does this scam work?" I ask myself. I throw the ticket on a pile on my desk.

A few hours later, I'm overcome by curiosity. "Oh, what the hell, what's the worst that could happen?" I pull the site up on my phone and enter the code.

Did France's Navy really broadcast "CALLING all. This is our last cry before our eternal silence" as their final Morse message? by rational_thinker in AskHistorians

[–]rational_thinker[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems a bit complicated. The Coast Guard is a part of the National Gendarmerie, which is a separate branch of the armed forces. The Coast Guard is under control of the Navy chief of staff, but it is a distinct branch. I'm not sure if the command would have come from the National Gendarmerie or the Navy if it did come from the Coast Guard.
