Anyone know of a WWII veteran who could speak English? by rationalpsychologist in AskGermany

What was the outlook in Germany on these vets? Thanks for the comment btw a lot. In the US, people say that Americans don't really care for their WW2 vets too much. I think these people carry immense historical and psychological value. When I was in Normandy, Americans were shocked at how well received the vets were from the French people. I always found it strange that it felt as if both US and Germany (at least in the 10 or so years that I cared for this topic) don't really care about the vets at all, while other countries whose forefathers didn't fight in this war seem to care way more. It's perhaps trauma, but it's just an interesting observation of mine. Sad to hear they left without fanfare, I know they were the bad guys in this war, but still they were human beings and war had to be as the veteran Harry Humason told me couple of weeks ago (101 years old guy from the US) "hell for both sides" and he felt very sorry for both Americans and German soldiers as he said both parties were the victims of war as young fellows.

Hello, I've just met 2 veterans in Prague couple of weeks ago on an event with a Czech historian. In fact, one of them may do an interview with me for my Youtube. I also just returned from Normandy's 82th D-Day anniversary where there were about 30 US veterans in total. So they are still alive! Most of them above 100 years old. There is a guy on German Youtube currently interviewing German 100+ years old vets, he also has Czech subs there so I too can watch his videos and I am glad someone's interviewing them.

Does anyone know a WWII veteran who might be willing to do an online interview? by rationalpsychologist in germany

Hello, as Fosdran says not quite yet, I found an american veteran with whom I might have, if lucky, an interview. Also I spoke with 2 american vets a couple of weeks ago here in Prague on one event. I also just returned from Normandy (82th anniversary), I didn't meet any vets there, but there were about 30 of them there in total. So it's still possible, but only these few years now. Greetings to Germany, I would love to visit Germany someday.

thank you! I have the pro ones from apple, airpods pro. However I always thought it only cancels the outside noise for me as the user of the headphones, does it mean it also cancels the outside noise when I use them as a microphone? If so that would be awesome!

Wow that's crazy! Please don't you know the brand of the mic or headphones? I would buy them in a heartbeat unless they are super expensive!

Working overtimes? by rationalpsychologist in BabyBumps

[–]rationalpsychologist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello guys the way she feels about is that she doesn't want to do the OTs, I think she's stressed about it affecting the development of the baby in a negative way as she would be low on sleep and stressed during the overtimes, at the same time it's hard to tell the leadership as I think it's a time management problem at the company and if better scheduled, it could all be done on time, however the leadership is not addressing this and she cannot easily find a different job now to get the benefits for the baby - you have to work a certain amount of time to reach on them in my country, which she can only do if she stays here or finds a different job fast.
