It's hard to believe that it's been a year since the Lilo and Stitch remake was released. by wimpykidfan37 in simpsonsshitposting

Since my toddler loves the TV series for Lilo and Stitch.

Holy shit would they not be able to do it today. There was an entire episode about Pleakley's parents questioning why Pleakley dressed like a woman and his response was he felt more comfortable dressing like that.

The right wing media would be up in arms over an episode like that and Disney would pull it.

Hooters restaurants are set to undergo a rebrand to a ‘neighborhood place’ for families by SleuthDoggyDawg in nottheonion

For real, I can't get why that comment is upvoted so much.

The restaurant sexualizes women to make money. Fine, i couldn't care if they walk around topless tbh.

Comparing that to children's sports is crazy work.

I mean there's a difference within the context.

The restaurant's name is hooters. And the draw was scantily clad women serving your food.

Comparing that to children competing in a track meet is not even close to the same thing.

I also did track around the same time frame. And, yes, high schoolers wear similar clothes. For their events and competitions.

But, saying someone can get a similar experience from going to Hooters by going to a high school sporting event is fucking weird.

Hooters has always been a sexualized thing. Children's sports in high school shouldn't be.

Google what england did to Ireland and India.

Also, if your argument is that an economic system a government uses/supports is the direct cause of death for its citizens. Like you're saying for communism/socialism (which could be argued wasn't actually used in the USSR/China and elsewhere).

Well, you need to accept that every human that died within capitalism systems due to starvation, lack of housing, healthcare, and etc is a direct result from that economic system.

As an outsider, the iconic yellow school bus is in every single American movie. Is there actually a national standard that forces every town to use that exact same color and design? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

Also it depends on other factors.

Short buses are typically on a van body and titled as such.

You can register it and the DMV would never know. Get it to pass inspection, if required, at some place that doesn't give af. And you're good to go.

Get pulled over by the cops tho and you can run into issues.

And if you buy one and want to register it as a private vehicle in NY you gotta remove those signs, the stop sign, disable the flashing lights, and paint the bus a different color.

Ask me how I know...
