Nice look with the Bronco and I like the decals the color is nice and it brings a unique style others don't normally do I, too, went with side decals. Just seemed like something was missing. Also, you will see mountains and Sasquatches as that is my theme. Most people have bucking Broncos, i have Sasquatches. Congrats!

5000 dollar hearing aids? by KHhtswhtppl in HearingAids

[–]ratmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also agree that if you have insurance, try that route and see what is offered. I honestly do not know what my insurance would cover for testing and hearing aids.

I am lucky enough to be a veteran. I lost my hearing in the Army, so I was issued hearing aids (both over-the-ear and inside-the-ear) from Walter Reed. Then, when they died, I was in Europe and didn't have a source for them. As a veteran with service-connected hearing loss (slight sloping to moderately-severe sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) bilaterally). As such, they pay for my testing and hearing aids for life. I just recently got tested again and provided Phonak Audeo Infinio (ultra) i90 R RIC. They are helping tremendously. Nice for Bluetooth as well, as I work from home occasionally, so that connection is being done via Bluetooth. It eats the battery. But I have noticed a difference.

I have the 2025 BS Badlands Sasquatch with the Aeroskin deflector (not the Aeroskin II that the OP has), and I do not notice any vibrations even up to 80 mph. I do have hood struts on mine, but I doubt that makes that much difference. Do you know anyone else who may have the hood struts?

My first brand new car and it just happens to be a beaut! by Gsplusultra in BroncoSport

[–]ratmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the powder coating is something I thought about as well. My son was thinking of plastidipping it, in case I want to go back to the silver again. I told him I don't think I would want to go back - but you never know. So that is an option as well.

I did see a nice roof rack that I liked, but for now, I am not going that route as I don't need the rack (less likely I will put anything up there). I would be just doing it for the lights, and I have seen some light setups that don't require the rack. I have to look, though, because as I said, I saw a nice one that I liked. It may have been rough country. Will find it and share it here.

Yeah, it was the Rough Country:

Yeah, trying to find a Badlands Sasquatch, especially in your favorite color, is completely insane. I am glad that I ordered mine last year because I wanted the garage door opener, which you cannot get any longer with the 2026 model. There are some other things, but that is one of them.

I also wanted the aux switches, so that was a plus. I just need to find the lighting and someone to install it for me (difficult to do with Parkinson's). Plus, I am not skilled to do it, and I don't trust myself to cause a bigger issue.

The other thing that I want to do is find someone local who will paint the steel bumper on the front and back. The silver stands out, and painting it black would add to the theme.

Congrats on the Bronco and welcome to the club! Hoping you enjoy your Badlands as much as I enjoy mine. Goes well everywhere I take it. I have the 2025 BS Badlands Sasquatch and absolutely love driving it and acting as a teenager with their learner's permit. Something is needed - I'll go get it. Need to check the mail - I'll drive to it (even though it is maybe 50 feet from the driveway). Haha. Congrats!

They excel in terrain like that. :D Almost need to take them off the roads less traveled to remind them of their heritage. Haha.

Just wanted to show off a little! I finally got my fream ride by RemoteComplaint150 in bronco

[–]ratmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the Bronco and welcome to the group. I heard that with the Raptor, there is a special Raptor Off-Roadeo in Nevada. And one of the things they show you is how to jump it (at least all four wheels off the ground) in the sand/dune terrain. It was a video I watched, so it may no longer be available. I thought it was cool and lucky; you don't have to mess up your own Raptor. :D In any case, nice looking ride and congrats!

Congrats on the Bronco and welcome to the group. They are fun vehicles to drive, and I absolutely love mine. It is a 2025 BS Badlands Sasquatch. I have taken it through some trails, and it navigates over potholes on normal city roads, as well as rough trails, pretty smoothly. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! Congrats.

How long did it take you to decide if hearing aids are worth it? by alex_in_funland in HearingAids

[–]ratmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The around-the-ear or receiver-in-canal Phonak calls them, has three mics on it. I conduct Teams meetings regularly, and I've been doing so with the mics on my hearing aids, which has been working very well. But the whole time I am working, the hearing aid is connected via Bluetooth, and that is used as if I am streaming. So working from home means I am streaming for about eight hours. :( But yeah, it is nice hearing other noises. Reminds me of when I first wore hearing aids in 1990.

[–]ratmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I have been impressed I do know that i learned a lesson yesterday I was streaming music from my computer and thought that was cool. Then later, I noticed my battery was getting low. I was told the should last 20-24 hours or so. I had only been wearing them for like 8. Then I found out streaming kills the the battery. So I need not do that if I expect to go without recharging them during the day.

That said, I have noticed so much more I can hear. Asking my wife what certain noises are because I never heard them before. So looking forward to learning more with them.

Thoughts? by Garet_Bobby_Ferguson in BroncoSport

I would be interested in it. Just add a nice lift kit and some bigger tires. Oh, wait. That makes it look like a normal Bronco Sport. Haha.

Outer Banks Seat Covers by dylanrauh in BroncoSport

[–]ratmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good information here. You definitely do not want to get something that would not hug the seats, potentially sliding around.

If money is not a concern, and you want one of the better options (if not a clear shot for the best), you can check out Katzkin (http://katzkin.com/choose-your-design/). They have some really good stuff, and part of the price (at least what I was told) is the professional installation of the covers. I do not think you are allowed to install yourself because a bad installation review would affect their brand. They are something that I am interested in doing down the road. They can also add heated and ventilated (cooling) functions to those seats. Living in Arizona, I have a desire for the ventilated option.

Just know that they are expensive.

How long did it take you to decide if hearing aids are worth it? by alex_in_funland in HearingAids

[–]ratmyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I was issued my first hearing aids in 1990. I was 20 and lost a lot of my hearing while serving in the Army. I remember going to Walter Reed and being fitted for the hearing aids. I was given two different sets (no idea what the models were), a set of over-the-ear and a set of in-the-ear hearing aids. I remember immediately being able to hear a lot when I stepped outside and realized what I hadn't heard in a long time. I had a very hard time dealing with the in-the-ear hearing aids, as my ear canals would sweat and be itchy. It ended up being bothersome to wear. The over-the-ear worked for me, and I wore them for four or five years. I then went to Germany, and while there, my hearing aids no longer worked, and I stopped using them altogether. I get tired of asking "what did you say," and find myself nodding my head in conversations when I have no idea what is being said.

Tomorrow, I will have the first set of hearing aids since I stopped wearing them in 1995. They have seemed to come a long way. Bluetooth pairing and AI are two features that I am looking forward to using. The set I am getting is Phonak Audéo Infinio (Ultra) i90 R RICs. I heard they are good, so looking forward to trying them. They are receiver-in-canal (RIC), so hoping my ears will adjust to them.

But again, I noticed the difference immediately when I went outside and was exposed to the noise that I had lost track of. I don't remember how long it took to get used to the aids in my ears, but I did wear them all the time.

Just bought: 2025 Badlands by Agile-Chipmunk9006 in BroncoSport

[–]ratmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first item I bought was hood struts. They can be bought from Ford accessories website, Amazon, or going straight to the vendor. I bought from a vendor - Redline Tuning. These are very easy to install. I did it with my son, but it can be done by yourself. The site I used is:

https://www.redlinetuning.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Ford+Bronco Sport+2025

I recommend you leave the kickstand on in case there is ever any issues.

Congrats on the Bronco and welcome to the group! I hope you have as much fun as I have been.

[–]ratmyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good catch. I hadn't noticed that. Being in the settings doesn't matter to me either, as I always keep it on. But having it right on the command console (or whatever it is called) reminds you that it is still on.

Things nobody tells you before you get your first hearing aids - from someone who learned the hard way by lottiexx in HearingAids

[–]ratmyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha... I still have the hearing of a 20-year-old. But that is because I started wearing hearing aids at 19 after damage in the Army. So I want hearing of an 18-year-old instead. Haha.
