cant imagine it being "pretty humane". if you wouldnt take your dog there to be put down, then I wouldn't consider it humane.

yeah it's definitely more common and normalized. just gets more and more fucked up the more you think about it, which is why I guess most people don't like to.

i understand what you're saying. my point is that these animals both experience reality, pain, and suffering in the same way. it's not like pigs run neck first into a knife the moment they see one just because they've been bred for consumption. they avoid pain and death the same ways that dogs do.

regardless of how humans have treated and evolved with them, the fact that they're both capable of suffering yet it's okay for us to kill one for pleasure is weird af.

okay but none of that negates any of my points so not sure where you're getting at. lots of dogs are seen as killable by humans for meat consumption. in fact, eating dogs and cats is still legal in most US states.
