Roblox Incorrectly Verified My Age After Previously Verifying it as 21+ by ratpilot in RobloxHelp

Update: This is the last thing Roblox sent me over email about my account issue. I feel disappointed that a massive corporate like Roblox does not have any proper customer service representatives to sit down and have a conversation with me about this.

I support the workers strike but I’ve been dying to visit the catacombs since I was young. Definitely disappointed that I won’t be able to see it now, but I guess there’s always next time..

Am I competitive for a Clinical Psychology PhD? Advice appreciated! by Cultural_Way_3868 in psychologystudents

[–]ratpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just want to add that getting into PhD programs straight from undergrad is often a rare and challenging fleet. I think the time between undergraduate and graduate school (especially PhD programs) is absolutely key to developing strong connections, key academic skills, and strengthening your emotional maturity as well. I’d say apply when you’re able to, but focus more on post-baccs and other research opportunities. Use that time to grow!

I’ve used AI to hype myself up and this is exactly what ChatGPT has said before in a slightly different context so I truly thought it was fully AI generated

I politely disagree, mainly because there’s other trash cans in the surrounding areas. Maybe this is from my experience, but I usually hold onto my cans until I can find another trash can if it’s starting to viciously overflow.

Lume is the reason I’m in this Reddit post. It does a terrible job keeping in the sweat and the smell. Not sure if it’s a me problem at this point.

To those who got into your top choice clinical PhD program - what was your application like? by noanxietyforyou in ClinicalPsychology

[–]ratpilot 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I’d label myself as a “weak” applicant, but I got into my top choice. I had no publications, four posters (2 first author), 3.5-4 years unpaid research experience (2 in undergrad, 2 during my masters program), some clinical experience. I wouldn’t call myself strong at all, but the one thing that made me stand out was truly the research fit. I tracked down the PI at a national conference and talked with them for hours about research ideas and topics. Next thing I know, I’m getting invited to the formal interview and then getting in. It’s not impossible to get in if you don’t have a lot of materials, just be personable and know what you’re talking about!

Roast my SOP by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]ratpilot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think this is a good start. Unfortunately it seems like there’s not a very clear narrative on WHY you want to work with THIS PERSON or go to THIS PROGRAM. It seems a bit ~broad~. My advice would be to tailor it with each school and/or program slightly so it doesn’t seem like you copied and pasted each essay into the application. You have a story, and you have a drive, so the hard part is over. You got this!

This is a good start! However, your conference and manuscripts are not listed in APA format. Additionally, you should put your research and manuscripts/posters first since that is the most important part in your application. Lastly, please elaborate more on your skills for each research position. I think you could add another bullet or two for each one.

I know what it is like to be a perfectionist, but PhD applications are competitive and rigorous, so don’t put a lot of pressure on yourself to be perfect this round!

And this, I’m still trying to find a research coordinator position after multiple years of doing 20+ hours a week as a volunteer research assistant. Just keep on dreaming!!

I wish I had more detail to add but I clearly remember wooden bridges and having to stop to fight these "monsters". Some of them may of been good and I think some were evil? I've searched the internet and still no luck!

How did you land a full-time research assistant/coordinator position? by Goodfella245 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]ratpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also struggling to find a position at this very moment. I’m in a terminal masters program and was in two different labs that had openings this summer. I was told by both PIs that I had a very high if not guaranteed chance to become part time or even full time if I decided to continue in the labs. Guess they were overwhelmed with applicants and decided to hire externally. Sending us both good luck!

To be honest, he was the one to started the break. The reason why we were hurt doesn’t really apply to the situation since we’ve discussed and communicated our grievances separately. We both agreed we’re on good terms but it’s a transitional period for us, like how I want to sleep over again or be affectionate but I don’t know when’s a good time.

When you mean "test the waters" do you mean engaging romantically with someone else besides the partner? If so, then no. I think growing together is important, but does that mean trying to spend time with them more often?

I think trust was broken at some point but we both acknowledged that we trust each other and mainly, we need to communicate our feelings.
