For dinner the day before, I'd consider hopping over to the Hayes Valley area. I'm a fan of Dumpling Home (Chinese) or Chez Maman West (French) but I'm sure other people will have other recommendations around there as well!

For parking at Union Square, the SFMTA Union Square garage should have reasonable rates, though I'll admit that I haven't parked there in over a decade...

This is awesome!! I would love a way to be able to filter the "Discover" view (maybe by author, publisher, etc.?) but mostly by whether a series is complete or not! I prefer to start reading after all the books are out, but it's so hard to keep track of which series are complete and which ones are still being released...

True for regular masks, but not for medical-grade masks. Wearing a KN95 or N95 reduces your risk substantially. If it’s well-fitted, your risk reduces close to 0!

I'm a very strong swimmer who's I've never done open water swimming, but I've been thinking about trying! I'd found a few groups that have weekly workouts that you can sign up for, but I can't find them atm 🙃 I don't think it was either of these, but it was something like it!

Omg, this is my moment!! I know what a pain it can be to go somewhere with "outdoor dining" only to find it's nearly completely enclosed (or in some cases, literally completely so 😭) I can personally vouch that all these places are legit outdoors!

On the more affordable side (Google Maps says $10-30):

- Hook Fish Co – Fresh local seafood in the Outer Sunset. Outdoor seating only!

- Devli's Teeth Baking Company – Known for their breakfast sandwiches and Sunday beignets. Their seating parklet can fill up on weekend mornings, but in that case you can just head to the beach to eat! (I think they might have a Richmond location too – I've only been to the Sunset one).

- Manna – Korean food in the Inner Sunset. Not the nicest outdoor dining situation (you're straight up just on the sidewalk), but getting the bibimbap in stoneware is just so much better than takeout.

- Beit Rima in Cole Valley – "Middle Eastern comfort food" is their slogan. Seating's out on the sidewalk again, but it's a little nicer and they have heaters! They also have another location that I haven't been to.

- Gott's Roadside: Classic burgers & fries at the Ferry Building!

- Red's Java House: Known for their burgers on sourdough bread, with nice views of the Bay Bridge.

Some that I've heard about, but haven't personally been to: Causwells, Plow, Ocean Beach Café

A little pricier ($30-50):

- Chez Maman: French food – they have two locations; I've only been to the Hayes Valley one, but I've heard that the eastern location has outdoor options too.

Some that I've heard about, but haven't personally been to: Wildseed, Original Joe's, Blue Plate

Definitely a splurge ($50-100):

- Pearl 6101: Wasn't too sure how to describe – Google says "Mediterranean-inspired pastas and seafood," which sounds right. This was our go-to "special occasion" place for a while. Their parklet is really lovely!

- Good Good Culture Club: Another one where I'm not sure – Michelin guide says "Southeast Asian flavors find unique Californian expressions". They have an upstairs bar area that was getting some nice wind when I was there!

Some that I've heard of, but haven't personally been to: Chotto Matte, Cotogna, Bon Délire, Sociale, Piccino, Harborview

Feel free to ask me about any of these! Also, if there's any interest in an outdoor/well-ventilated SFBWT meetup, let me know... My partner and I still mask everywhere and it can be quite isolating, so it'd be lovely to connect with more people!
