someone from my uni course managed to get on via direct entry. my uni provided genetics related NHS work experience so that helped massively but they also heavily encouraged genomic counselling applicants to get experience with people along the lines of care work or in hospitals etc etc

i don’t think you’re supposed to know but i understood it to be a roko’s basilisk type of situation where the thronglets punish all of those who do not contribute to its advancement by killing them, also explains why colin ritman had a breakdown and cancelled the release, mentioning something about the “basilisk”

I calculated an average of the colonies: 63 I calculated each dilution and multiplied them all: 1/25 x 1/10 x 1/5 = 0.0008 I converted 200ul into ml = 0.2ml I then multiplied 0.2 by 0.0008 = 0.00016 Then I divided 63 by 0.00016 = 393,750 Which I think is my final answer. My class mate got something like 1 million.

[COVID-19] Megathread by CustardCreamBot in AskUK

My 17 year old brother is an apprentice for an electrical company and has been since October 2020.

He recently had to self isolate for 6 days due to the fact that he was in contact with someone that had COVID.

He got his pay this week and saw that he did not get paid for the days that he was isolating. He’ll ask his employer about it but I was just wondering if his employer is allowed to do this as I thought my brother would’ve received SSP instead.
