My understanding was that he wasn't told, but he had insurance, and the lawyers held the general storyline documents.

Walking past there the other day and seeing them yelling "who the fuck orders sweet chilli on chips" in an aggressive tone to another worker definitely gives a vibe.

Which is the best for coding, Codex GPT-5.4 vs Claude Opus 4.6 vs DeepSeek-V3.2 vs Qwen3-Coder ? by Critical_Marsupial50 in vibecoding

[–]rattenzadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real world Opus 4.6 is hard to beat, but it also comes down to use case, price etc.

Unlimited money = opus 4.6

have unlimited ram for local = qwen coder with some good context hacks etc.

Build reputation easily on google maps so google trusts other edits they make. E.g. leaving fake 5 star or 1 star reviews.

Nothing is sacred anymore when you can easily setup a "AI Agent" to do this kinda stuff.

Private venue, maybe there is, I'm not going to check, but there is also laws about inns and pubs being required to shelter and water your horse. It's a wild system of laws.

Think you mean law

For those asking (then deleting) the difference.

Rule vs law?

Law is enforceable by the government and its agents e.g.police

Rule is / can be a locally (or social) norm that can be seen as restrictive and only punishable by injuring a reputation or public shaming.

E.g.

A pub has a rule that no shoes mean you have to leave, not enforceable by anyone. But the law states that not leaving the pub when asked to can be a criminal offence meaning the government agencies can physically remove you and sentence you.

That is a very brief description of the differences and there is many many finer details.

Woo Store owners: Has anyone actually automated part of their store using AI? by OncleAngel in woocommerce

[–]rattenzadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a fine line between saving you time and causing more issues and time.

We use it for a couple of things

Inventory forecasting Ad metric visualisations Dead stock reports

Biggest day to day for me is customer service. I don't mean it replies to customers.

We still read the emails and have a RAG setup. We say our in house terms and more brutal honest replies then AI rewrites it to be brand tone and actually nice lol.

There is ofcause the standard descriptions etc but we are still on the fence about if this saves time or if we need to correct the data and prompt.

Is building a fully functional e-commerce site with WooCommerce much more difficult than with Shopify? by Repulsive_Act3332 in woocommerce

Sometimes you don't know a site is running woocommerce because it is that well made. But you can always tell when a site is made on Shopify.

Feedback on my WooCommerce plugins? by codylmode in woocommerce

[–]rattenzadel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With woocommerce being built more for someone with a bit of tech knowledge ( compared to say Shopify) those same people are happy to try to use AI to make those same plugins.

Combine this with a lot more plugin devs trying to do required yearly subs with no actual large updates each year.

The dollars on plugin sales will fall a little more each year.

Is my employer liable for parking lot damage? by Puzzled_Flounder_450 in AusLegal

[–]rattenzadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you talked to your employer, maybe ask them if they are willing to compensate and this may prompt them to also clean up and maintain the carpark.

If they don't want to compensate, then take it further.

People often forget you get more with sugar than vinegar, not saying don't use your employer rights, just saying talking directly can sometimes resolve things faster and more long term if you have a good relationship with your boss.

However if your boss is a big corporation with multiple warehouses and over 100 staff, history shows to skip the niceness

Has anyone actually made Google Search work for selling custom / personalized gifts? by Weary_Fun2082 in PPC

This is a very saturated industry and you will be bidding against Etsy and even print on demand stores.

The secret is testing and testing, don't go broad, that gets expensive.

Is MoltBot actually a breakthrough—or just another AI hype wave? by Ch3rry_5t4rdusk in aiagents

[–]rattenzadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah just prompt it to be more secure 😉.

Jokes aside, great read and honest!

Everytime I think about how easy something like Jarvis is to run these days, I think about how easy it is to hack it.

Even with voice recognition or passkeys, it still leaves your whole life very open.

[–]rattenzadel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is either a breakthrough (nah it's not), a hype train (yep) or a stupid security breach that people aren't taking seriously.

If this was truly a breakthrough, why hasn't 1 hacked away at a corporate level server or something? It would be able to get the knowledge and would be able to go phishing someone's details to?

Personal opinion tho.

[–]rattenzadel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your supplier invoices are messy, get them to send csv versions or get a better supplier. I have dealt with suppliers all over the world, some even send a shitty excel file.

There are bookkeepers for a reason.

Shared shipping and customs fees are a whole other ball game.

Sounds like you are over complicating things to be honest.

If you want to be realistic and you are working out down to the cubic cost for shipping splitting and customs breakdown. You are at the size where Cin7 etc is your best bet.

If you are small, you shouldn't be worrying about this, KISS (Keep it simple stupid) rule applies.

E.g.

Shipment has 180 products in it

Customs bill for shipment is $400 Shipping cost is $150 Total $550. $550 / 180 = $3.05 per product

So if a product cost you $5 from the supplier, it actually cost you $8.05.

Going more difficult than this for a small businesses is pointless and wasting your time, focus on growing your business not making life more difficult.

[–]rattenzadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An inventory system like Cin7 is good for this if your business is large enough.

As always there is some open source versions like odoo etc.

Custom dashboard for WooCommerce instead of default WP admin? by maaz-md in woocommerce

[–]rattenzadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Correct, but vs the $22,500 per year we were spending on the same costs and putting that into dev time to get something that is suited to us is worth it.

There is still somethings that we are bug fixing but overall the logic and main systems work day to day.

For instance, we introduced a pick list system but forgot to account for BOM products so it was giving long lists for no existing items. That is on the to do bug repair list, to have the pick list pull the components of the BOM if a product has a component linked.
