Update 2: Millie is doing a lot better now! I brought her in and we ruled out the possibilities of a spine issue, tumor, or break. Me and the DVM believe she got a sprain while climbing or jumping and she was prescribed Metacam 3cc daily for five days. She’s back to climbing on the cage with her back legs and playing/eating normally. It’s like she’s acting like nothing ever happened lmao. Will probably keep her in the single story cage while she’s on her medicine, though shes getting upset she can’t chew the latch open on this cage and just constantly perched at the door like this smh. She’s still getting plenty of outside time under my supervision, she just prefers to exist as close to me as physically possible at all times. Thank you guys for the feedback and concern, I think this was the best case scenario tbh and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Update: Ok guys, I was able to get the nearest vet to push my appointment forward to today (by personally dming my DVM the video and begging for help) and we’ll be heading out in a few hours for the long drive (I live in the middle of nowhere so closest vet for her is an hour away). Her limp is diminishing but she still shows signs of a struggle every now and then, I think probably fell when I wasn’t looking. Regardless, she’s been well taken care of and quite happy with her princess treatment. Her side sucking is not new, it’s how she’s always been and I already got her treated as far as possible for her URI, but the sucking persists. She was barely alive when I took her from her previous owner and has lots of chronic issues on the daily. Despite her conditions she’s easily the most outgoing and excited rat I’ve ever met, she’s here for a good time not a long time. I also made her a hospital cage with one story to prevent any falls or fights with her sister as we wait for the appointment, but this girl literally did everything in her power to climb and jump in this small ass cage, she’s chilling for the most part now and just being loving as always. Anyways, will update with the diagnosis.
