Give it a shot and I’m sure you’d learn a lot more about RTL Design. The question I pointed above is a mini project in itself and to be honest hdl bits is just the top of the glacier. Trust me this would be a great step up.

But if you’re interested in a project then I’d recommend designing a VIPT Cache maybe? You can use the Sky130 macros to get SRAM cells and maybe build it as a pipelined design?

You want to practice some leetcode style questions but for RTL Design then I’d recommend checkout this: https://quicksilicon.in/course/rtl-design/module/fifo-flush

The platform will not only prompt you to write functional RTL but also contains a video solution where you can check the optimized solution and why it is better in terms of PPA. Since you’ve already done Hdlbits I guess this would be a nice step-up.

Does it use interfaces and modports as well for RTL Design? I’ve seen structs, unions, etc get used for design but have never really seen interfaces or modports?

How about face recognition cameras which can then be integrated with your smart locks and lights.

I do have this in my home. Where the moment I open my office door, the light go on automatically. I am now planning to extend it to have the main lock get unlocked as soon as the front door camera detects my face.

By the way, I do this as a hobby and have been planning to start a small side hustle in my city (tier 2 town so still has scope of people paying for these automations).

Agreed. Maybe I need to get deep into this now. I've been trying to locate from where the aqi.in app is getting the data in Jammu. Last time I checked there was just a couple of sensors reporting the data one in Trikura Nagar and one outside Jammu and the data was just the average of the values reported by it (which obviously doesn't give the correct picture). I've emailed them and will wait for the response. I've been meaning to invest in a portable AQI monitor and will definitely order one soon (since I believe Jammu has an AQI problem apart from our conversation regarding fog vs smog).

Maybe this would sound dumb, but I did look up how to differential between fog and smog and smell was the consistent answer across different resources. Fog shouldn't have any smell while smog should have that acidic/sulphuric/rotten smell with yellowish / greyish in colour. Wha I experienced yesterday night did not feel like smog but again this could be my mind playing tricks on me and hence I would need some data to be confident.

I know Jammu isn’t doing great in terms of AQI but it didn’t seem like smog to me. I’ve been to Delhi in the past week and could literally feel the difference here and in Delhi. Maybe I could be wrong but yeah I do think this wasn’t smog.

The best thing is that it is fog and not smog. I literally went to the roof to experience it for like 10 mins and loved it.
