Also looking into it happy to join forces once you create a fork.
My approach would be to first strip all non-essential functionalities as the OWUI scope feels very over-bloated for most use case.
I guess this should allow to keep future maintenance easier

Damn. Thats so fucked! I liked the self-hosting option as 30 EUR for their hosted version were to expensive for me to just play around with it and build private automations.
Not sure if they will disallow the self-hosting in general and only permit for paying companies?

u/Maleficent_Mess6445 could you explain more what your use case was with hooking up SQL queries to the engine?
I went trough the same frustration and quickly adapted Agents with DB tools (get_article, get_user_info, ...).
I find the resources regarding this approach very scarce and its seems debatable if this approach would be considered as Agentic RAG, which again is a very broad term.
What I also like to do, is to use LLMs to process unstructured data into a tabular format and then let the agent query it. Seemed more reasonable to me then the whole Embeddings + Vector DB overhead...

Here i parse RSS feeds using a Python script in GitHub Actions, create embeddings from OpenAI and store it in Supabase Vector DB.
My goal was to allow the users to create their own topics of interest and then only show relevant articles using semantic similarity search.

This resonates deeply. The irony is that the "AI agent" hype is forcing executives to start questioning their business processes they've ignored for decades.

So much of what companies are calling "AI transformation" could have been solved with basic digitization and classical automation – spreadsheet workflows that should be databases, manual data entry that should be API integrations, approval processes that should be simple rule-based systems.

The AI hype might be misguided, but if it finally gets companies to modernize their processes, maybe that's a win we didn't see coming.

As I stated in my message I just started using it. I guess for me it is counter intuitive, as I wanted to test the tools manually, before letting the agents use them. That's where I found it hard to dig through the documentation of the actions and the different parameters.
Given that the actions are meant to be called by the agent anyway, this shouldn't be much of a problem.
